GOP strategy for many years has been to do everything that they can to impede and impair the functioning of government.

When the GOP tried to kill the USPS with a demand for billions in pre-funding, the US corporate media generally framed the story as a typical Government Agency losing money. Very few media outlets did any basic journalism by actually getting some facts.

And we too can call/email our local news outlets, and demand actual coverage of actual issues.

Petersen was first nominated to a six-year term in 2008 by President George W. Bush. That appointment expired in 2014, but partisan politics has created gridlock for successive nominations, so Petersen and others have continued as holdovers under a provision allowing them to serve until a successor is confirmed

without enough members they cannot do anything.
So really this probably has nothing to do with his being being tired of Trump breaking election laws.

After all its in the interest of justice to have the FEC enforce the laws.

I mentioned Rove because despite all the focus on Russia in the news these days, there is plenty of ongoing home-grown election fraud -- and the resignation of the FEC vice-chair resulting in the shutting down of FEC enforcement seems very rovian.

being swept into appointments, it's a major clone-job of what KKKarl Rove did to Siegelman.

So sorry that you had to see your mentor face such brutal injustice and abuse.

On their election meddling. Secondly, they can't move forward on presidential debates next year? Pretty sweet deal for Trump.

And Trump himself has hinted that he may not, even declaring he controls the independent commission on debates. Certainly not a for sure but this move could be floated as the excuse for not debating.

by a much ignored ploy. He has quietly and systematically dismantled the traditional press corps and press conferences. Just like a dictator - he doesn't have to answer for a single thing he does or says.

While the PRESS, the center of it all, doesn't mention this every day is unbelievable.
