(3,148 posts)Once the Electoral College certifies, that is it; anyone not acknowledging the new administration is in some ways technically in revolt.
It's why I've always *HATED* anyone on left or right using the asinine phrase "Not my president". Sorry, once the swearing in happens it's a fact, unless one renounces their citizenship. We hated that fact in 2017, they're gonna hate that fact in 2021
Once the Electoral College certifies, I'm pretty confident that any administration not abiding by the orderly transfer of power can be eliminated by any means the military sees fit, and I have zero problem with *ANY* level of force being used on anyone who tries to stop the legitimate functioning of the government.

It is your mind in your head and your feelings. Why are you renting out space to that? It is you own real estate, guard it well.
Recover yourself so that your energy is fresh and unencumbered by the daily manipulation and white noise. The point and benefit of that is your resilience and equipoise will make you not only more able to stand above it, it will make you more effective and capable of responding and engaging in dealing with it, for the benefit of yourself and others.

(66,316 posts)Any person of good faith has to be wrung out by the constant barrage of vileness, squalor and fecklessness emanating from this insane clown posse and their idol.
And have you noticed? Even Trump's supporters never look happy. They look mean, they look angry, they look drawn and pinched, tired, demented, soulless, but they don't look happy. They're not smart enough to understand that happiness cannot be created on the backs of the miserable, the oppressed, the hopeless. Schadenfreude is not a solid foundation for a happy life. As much as they seem to enjoy their chance to "own the libtards", they haven't translated that into fulfilling lives.
I feel the way I felt during the seemingly endless, two-term GWB administration, only worse. I can only hope that we soon have a repeat of Election 2008, and the attendant joy and hope of that day.

I, too, sometimes think I cant stand another day of the madness generated by tRump. I have hoped for so long that the people with the power to remove him from office would do so, but many of them benefit from keeping him in office. It is exhausting to witness what he is doing to our nation and even to the world. For my own sanitys sake, I hope for the best and remember that even tyrants and despots eventually run out their clock and die. His time will end.
One small thing we all can do is find a place of peace and serenity. I live not far from the Gulf of Mexico. Our beaches are beautiful and peaceful places to remember the good in the world. The regular pulsing of the tide, in and out, soothes the frazzled mind and spirit. So look for your calming place whether in the forest, a rooftop oasis or by the sea. It really can restore a sense of peace that is so needed as we go through the difficult times brought on by this horrid man and his enablers.

We need everybody working together over the next 14 months to depose the blubbering baby in the White House, so take yourself off the field when you need to and let somebody else step up. Then rejoin the fray when you feel up to it.

(36,023 posts)But I feel you. I've been there, too. Just try to remember that the politics of spite is designed to draw joy from frustrating you.
Our miserable opponents love what they call "liberal tears" and remind each other daily of how that is their goal.
Brad Parscale right now is holding women's rallies for Trump in which his speakers say these actual things.
But keep this in mind. You remember the feeling on November 8th? Remember everybody crying, over at the Javits Center? The media, like some people, was on TV, literally crying announcing Donald Trump was President? Think about how much more their heads are going to explode in 2020. The crowd roared in appreciation, and Trump added, over the din, smiling, If you need something to keep you going.
Your tears are honest. And you can convert them to anger and action.
Like Mark Oshiro says, anger is a gift.

(30,733 posts)But that is what malignant narcissists do. I should know. My mother is one. Every once in a while she slips some of her shitty behavior past me. Then I usually think, "Wait a minute. Nothing 45 does surprises me. It does exhaust me, yes. But it is predictable, at least to me, that he will behave in a way to keep everyone off balance.
