I'd like to see an end to the expression "That's just Trump being Trump"...

...Chuck Todd said it earlier today, when he showed an old clip of Trump pimping Trump steaks, water, wine, vodka, and saying "We're going to bring back Trump University after we settle the lawsuit."

On one hand, yes...it IS "Trump being Trump."

On the other hand, I feel a sort of "normalization," intended or not, the way you scruff up Dennis the Menace's hair after he's been a rascal. Or maybe the way Jimmy Fallon scruffed up Trump's hair on The Tonight Show.

It's a nuance thing, I'm probably reading more into it than necessary, but when I hear it, it's like "We expect it, that's just the way he is, so what are ya gonna do?"

Hopefully, what we're gonna do is vote him out of office in 2020.

Until then, I'd love it if I never hear those words again.
