(44,063 posts)Crazier the Republicans act, the more desperate you seem to get.

(36,693 posts)I am not better than I was 4 years ago ....... however ........
Is the reason I am not better off the President's fault: NO
If Willard is elected president your future is in danger, your children, your grandchildren
Will I vote for Obama: yes
Has Obama made mistakes: yes
People like you really piss me off. Assuming without any information.
I believe an apology from you to me is called for...........

(44,063 posts)At any rate, I will apologize am very sorry.
I am a little riled up though, saw your post after a "progressive" insisted to me that Romney and Obama are "just the same" except on abortion rights.
The bullshit is getting pretty thick here with a handful of "progressives" who seem more like pot stirring Republican Operatives pretending to be leftists. The more crazy the Republicans act, the more desperately they try to blame everything on Democrats. Including minimizing the egregiousness of Republican policies, or projecting the Ryan Budge onto nameless Democrats.
Sorry I assumed.

I assume everyone on this site is going to vote for Obama

(44,063 posts)Known in DU Lore as "The Great Reveal"
Long time "progressive" poster revealed the he was indeed a Republican Troll working to defeat Kerry by discouraging Dem voters. If I am remembering right, several others came forward too.
So while I would like to assume that every body here is going to vote for Obama, experience tells me that it isn't necessarily so. There is a lot of Rove/Koch money out there. Republicans have a long history of infiltrating lefists orgs and causing trouble. Nixon admin called it "RATFUCKING"

(33,497 posts)I have a decent job and got a raise and my 401K has doubled under Obama, but I also realize that many people are not better off or are about the same. Still, we need President Obama. I have a disabled sister who is on a fixed income and medical assistance, and I know she won't be better off under a President Romney with their big intended cuts to medical assistance.

(2,939 posts)Not unemployed, but underemployed. Have health insurance, but not enough money to live on. Still better off than I would be with a Republican president.
HARP got me a mortgage I can afford. I had a regular mortgage, not one of the inflatable horrors, but I was underwater and couldn't get one of the new low interest rates. Because of HARP, I refinanced, and now I have $400 more per month to live on.

(5,941 posts)and my business is doing better than it has in years. We just hired someone this week and are looking to hire another new attorney in the next few weeks. We have hired four new attorneys and three other employees in the last six months. Thanks to the Jobs Act and the SEC rules that will go into effect in a month or so, we are opening a Palo Alto office and hiring three more people for that office in addition to the hiring in or main office. Thank you president Obama!!!!

(17,718 posts)no raises, savings flatlining, everything is more expensive
And thanks to the president's campaign in 2008, I now work in a job that I LOVE (I work on campaigns, which never would have started had I not volunteered for Obama in 2008). In the last 4 years, I've worked my way from volunteer to Congressional Field Director.
Thanks Obama for getting me involved in politics.
Worse off. Working on it, I know I'm lucky to even have a job, lots of folks are jobless out there and hurting.
Great, we got bin Laden, unfortunately that doesn't help the economy or create jobs.

(68,867 posts)My husband and I bought 50% ownership of a popular 25 year old Restaurant in SSF....
We renovated the place and analyzed the financial activity and took measures to
save a business that was on the brink of closure due to financial mismanagement.
it looks like we will be doing just fine (increased sales by about 15% thus far) after riding a
rough patch in catching up past due expenses we inherited from the previous management team.
This investment was done so that I could transition out of our Accounting business
which had exhausted me after 25 years of due dates and introverted work!
I start Bartending school next week-end......(since the restaurant has a full bar),
and culinary school next month (I'm French, and the Restaurant is authentic Italian, so I have quite a bit to learn).....
Also, our Funeral establishment appears to be doing better this year than any other past year to date.....
Plus our kids are doing great, I'm excercising and keeping fit, and I'm about to celebrate my 29th wedding anniversary
next month with a trip to Las Vegas to catch some shows! Things could'nt have gotten much better and where I am today
is a place better than I could have ever imagined for myself 3.7 years ago.
I will thank Pres. Obama as well as whomever helped us in building those businesses that we now have.
As small business owners X3, we couldn't have done it all by ourselves!

(30,947 posts)Then in 2010, I was laid off. I wanted to work longer to get more money into my 401K. Now I just have to depend in my social security for income. I have some savings, but I am depending on that for emergencies. Fortunately, my expenses are low. I live in a mobile home that I own. I only pay lot rent. I have no credit card debt and my car is paid for. My only other expenses are the usual utilities, insurance, Internet and cable. I only have myself and two small dogs to feed, and I am a vegetarian, so I eat on the cheap.

(5,390 posts)but many are not and we have the Republican congress critters to thank for that.
We did lose a lot in our home equity but are lucky to be able to ride this out.
