After Donald Trump wrapped up his first speech to Congress and worked his way through the crowd, he lingered on his handshake with Anthony Kennedy, the 80-year-old Supreme Court justice.
The boom mics picked up their seemingly private conversation.
Say hello to your boy, Trump said, Special guy. Your kids have been very nice to him, Kennedy replied. Well, Trump said, they love him, and they love him in New York.
While the White House is focused this week on shepherding Trumps first Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, through the Senate confirmation process, the president and his team are obsessed with the next possible vacancy.

(11,849 posts)Moscow Mitch and the purloined SCOTUS seat! Maybe Trump promised to pardon Kennedy's son in exchange for his resignation from the court? Just sayin' it was mighty convenient.
Seems to me the only question now is; how much of the party does MF45 take down with him?

hence the pardon promise and bargain to get daddy to step down from the court? Just sayin'.

(3,245 posts)involved.
Justice Kennedy would surely know that even a pardon would not immune his son from any state charges resulting from New York Attorney General or Banking regulators from pursuing charges against his son.
It would also prevent him from claiming 5th Amendment rights against any charges being levied against the bank, Trump (both personally and the Trump Org.),
Got to think there's more to than just a pardon.

(3,245 posts)but at this point, is one of those guesses that Justice Kennedy was more aware of his son's activities and turned a blind eye? Would that pose any legal jeopardy for Justice Kennedy?
Another could easily be that Trump and his family are much more deeply involved in any money laundering schemes that just the beneficiary of the schemes perpetrated by Kennedy Jr. (whatever the son's name is) and the Russian money and that Trump was more an active broker, of which possibly Justice Kennedy knew as much.
If a conspiracy theory (or as the evidence comes out), is a pardon for Justice Kennedy not under the realm of possibilities?

(11,849 posts)Thanks for sharing. The real question is no longer does MF45 go down...but how many does he take down with him?
If course...there is always the wild card...full dictator. After all Boris Johnson just suspended British Parliment.
I' m not confident.

Boris Johnsons plan to prorogue parliament for five weeks is the longest suspension of the British legislature since 1945 and appears designed to evade scrutiny of his plans for Brexit or any new deal with the EU, constitutional experts have said.
Ruth Fox, the director of the highly respected Hansard Society, a leading source of independent research and advice on parliamentary affairs, said it was an affront to parliamentary democracy.
The Commons Speaker, John Bercow, has said the move was an offence against the democratic process designed to stop MPs debating Brexit.
Lawyers said the unprecedented length of the suspension of parliament would prompt immediate legal challenge. Expect litigation starting in Scotland, said Ros Kellaway, the head of Brexit and EU law at Eversheds Sutherland, in London.

As one of the other posters said, the fan seems to be buried in shit and this is just a new batch putting it deeper under.
But, I'm MAD. I really am. Furious that this could happen in my lifetime.
There had better be some trials after we finally pry Trump out of the White House. Crimes against humanity, racketeering, obstruction of justice, witness tampering. These motherfuckers had BETTER be headed for jail when we take back power. Oh, due process by all means. But there need to be some fucking trials.
