I was awake very early this morning for a while, due to a disturbing dream, so I turned on WCCO 830, my go to AM radio station. A show, "Beyond Reality" was on the air. The host of the show, who I have never heard before, was interviewing a woman who quite literally made no sense at all. Supernatural phenomena, my ass!
While I realize that "Insomniac Radio" in the overnight hours has long been a popular thing, I have to wonder about the audience for such nonsense. I guess there needs to be an "Art Bell" type of program around, but "Beyond Reality" is truly "Beyond Belief."

(43,049 posts)These guys seem to believe this stuff. Tomorrow night will be a discussion of alien breeding programs. A few nights ago it was explained just what to do if you have been abducted.
I used to stay up at night listening to Long John Nebel. He had a long list of guests with ghost stories, alien abductions, the Heironymous machine, and every other whacky thing you can imagine. Even had a guy who claimed he was a Venusian. His regulars were The Amazing Randi and a few other skeptics and scientists who laughed about all this stuff.
Long John wrote a book called "The Way Out World" which is a fun read if you can find it. He never once believed any of this stuff, but it was great radio.
