I don't see why it should change for this scenario.

Of course... even were that spin acceptable (it isn't), it would have trouble getting around the fact that O'Donnel said twice in his apology that he was reporting.

Last night I made an error in judgment by reporting an item about the president’s finances that didn’t go through our rigorous verification and standards process. I shouldn’t have reported it and I was wrong to discuss it on the air. I will address the issue on my show tonight.

this was single source, and that single source didn't actually see any documents.

So explain to me why Lack should tell O'Donnell...well done, no problems, and carry on?

Why shouldn't O'Donnell retract?

Me.

if the source did or didn't see the documents, LD was very vague about it all

that execs first said, "whatever it takes" to get people back from streaming movies and binge-watching episodes off Netflix, Prime, or elsewhere. Whatever the reason, in reporting the tantalizing supposition, he fell headlong into bad occupational judgment, though he clearly stated it was neither verified nor confirmed. He should have known better but then...

That said, it is even more unacceptable to hear the daily Tweets and delusional lies from residents repeated ad nauseum as newsworthy reported through the likes of Faux News, from the surrounding kiss-up sycophants and reptilian creatures in the West Wing, and by the disturbed holder of Oval Office.
