Have we learned nothing from republican/media spin history? I saw this exact same show in 2004.

Now the show is Donald Trump, Deutsche Bank, and Lawrence O'Donnell in 2004 the show
was George W Bush going AWOL from the Texas Air National Guard, and Dan Rather. In both
cases the damaging story was true but certain powers got the media talking about what a
bad person the news caster/pundit is and not the underlying crime and then loudly calling
for the person's job.

... In 2004 it was creative response concepts, Karl Rove, Fox News, the Bush White House and a whole apparatus
of republican party workers who were "on point" spreading the story that the problem wasn't w bush going AWOL
but Dan Rather and a phony document. BTW w bush did go AWOL from the TANG.

And now it is the Trump White House, Fox News, right wing talkers and web sites, GOP politicians that are "on
point" with party produced talking points, I would bet creative response concepts, Russian bots and others on
social media, and a corporate media that does the GOP's bidding. Expect public calls for Mr. O'Donnell's job now.
BTW Deutsche Bank is Russian controlled, Trump has gotten billions from it, no doubt powerful Russians
contacted to Putin OKed those loans and Justice Kennedy's son was somehow involved too.

... when their livelihood is based on forgetting what a terrible job they did reporting Dubya's continued hoaxes? The American news media can be very opaque when it works to their advantage. The nasty way they piled on Dan Rather is just one example.

... was installed by Russia with help from inside the United States. "They" did the same thing w/
w in 2000 & 2004 where they went on and on about how w "won" the election with his campaign
plans but the bottom line is that he cheated in Florida and then got the SCOTUS to stop the counting
of the vote in Florida (the recounts showed Gore won) and in 2004 Ohio was so dirty that it wasn't
funny.

The Pulitzer Prize winner accepted a Mirror Award for media reporting from Syracuse University on Thursday for his stories on sexual misconduct at CBS, including allegations that toppled the corporation’s former leader, Leslie Moonves.

Like other award winners, he saluted fellow journalists and industry leaders at the Manhattan luncheon for bravery in producing stories that keep the media honest and transparent — even at the cost of burning bridges and losing job opportunities.

At the same time, he said “I can see people who have lied to protect power.”

From both the podium and later afterward, Farrow declined to name names
