1. If Comey is going to be faulted for anything it should be for what he did to Hillary.

That performance was the final straw for many on-the-fence voters and Hillary lost the electoral votes she needed by only 70,000 votes. As much as Comey has tried to clean up his image, I hold him responsible for the election of Trump.

Thus the leaked FBI emails of those that thought Trump was an inept presidential candidate, and Comey sharing potentially damning to Trump information will provide ammunition for Trump to claim there is some liberal deep state Obama plot to make Trump look bad or some such nonsense.
Non-critical thinking Trump supporters will eat it up.

FBI leaks were used against Hillary and her campaign, but that is just fine with Trump and the GOP. It does not fit the narrative they wanted, so Barr declined to investigate.

The ability to perform your job in a non partisan factual manner should not be so difficult. That does not mean that you cannot have biases or political opinions, but you need to put those aside to do your job. That is why non-partisan judges are so important...you either broke the law, or you did not. It should not matter what Party you belong to or what personal connections you have to the court. Of course, justice is not always so blind...but at least it sometimes appeared to be. We had faith in it.
Now justice, and the DOJ, are becoming an entirely partisan non-independent part of the executive branch. Trump is being allowed to use the DOJ to go after whoever he feels like, and Trump hereby orders the DOJ to leave certain individuals alone. Barr is ok with this.
