In one case, a voting machine in Kemps home precinct recorded that Republicans won every race, while the other six machines in that same precinct showed that Democrats won every race. The machine showed Republicans winning by roughly the same margin by which Democrats won on the other machines. A statisticians analysis cited in court documents said odds of an anomaly that large are less than 1 in 1 million, the Journal-Constitution reported.

(54,302 posts)They decide who programs them, and who announces the results. They alone decide whether or not to let them report real results, or just results they want. They even went to court and got a decision in their favor declaring the machines "private property" so that the hard drives could not be forensically examined after an election to make sure the reported results were the ones the machine actually received as input.
In Ohio, in 2004, when the presidency was decided by which way Ohio went, only one of the electronic voting machines was examined. It was in some rural area where the owners did not get to it early. The machine was shown to have given Bush 3000 votes, even though there were only 600 registered voters in the precinct, and thus a maximum of 600 possible votes cast. It was called a "glitch," and the Republicans still refused to let any of their other machines be examined (wonder why?). It can hardly be described as a surprise. It certainly wasn't any surprise to them. Just watch this brief scene from the White House lawn on a warm election day in November, 2004:
The "irregularities" as far as I am concerned are more like "criminalities," as they appear to be blatant manipulation of the election process--one the Republicans have been getting away with since the 2000 election, and technically upgraded in 2002. As long as they continue to get away with it, they will see "no need" for reform or oversight. If we want the foxes to cease guarding the hen house, do not look to the foxes to take the initiative.

(58,785 posts)of the GA setup. Badly designed, vulnerable equipment, owned and controlled by a strong, loyal Republican, laws written so that his company had virtually full control, even the assembly couldn't monitor, unauditable and no paper of course. The equipment was kept at an unsecured location on a university campus, and it was apparently even set away from the wall so the rear was easy to access, as well as front and sides.
All that lead me to only one possible takeaway, that it was chosen and designed to assist extremely arrogant Republicans with election thefts as needed. I'd mention hubris except that having to retire among many sympathizers would not be downfall. I have no expectation that any will go to prison at all, much less for the decades that would be proportional to these huge crimes, just wishes and hope.
