I'm so angry today. I'm angry that as a woman I do not enjoy equal rights and control over my own body.
I'm angry that children are being separated (kidnapped) from their families and warehoused in subhuman "camps".
I'm angry that our elections are not secure and the ones who have the authority to change that...refuse.
I'm angry that humans continue to strip out earth of resources, giving no regard to our planets viability, nor to he plants and animals that also live here.
I'm angry that the richest people make the rules. Usually so they can make even more money. And alot of times at the direct expense to the poor, middle class, and our planet.
I'm angry that MF45 ad the GOPee are destroying our democracy. And that they are seemingly getting away with it...
I'm angry that I have all GOPee representatives who do not fight for my rights and security. They fight only for their wallets and their friend's wallets.
I'm angry that my son cannot get an education without being threatened by school shootings. And nothing is being done to help protect my child.
I'm angry that my POC brothers and sisters are dying at the hands of the police sworn to protect them.
I'm angry at the nazi flag flying in my county and the nazi march in my town.
I'm tired. There's so much to fight that I'm stuck in my activism. My vote has always been my voice...but even that basic right is under attack.
An old saying goes "If I care about anything, I'll have to care about everything and go stark raving mad"
Yes, DU. Im so very angry. Im even angry at the many atrocities that i didn't have time to add..

(11,323 posts)I wonder if this was the GOPee plan all along. Screw up so many things to divide our attention.
I've personally fought against workplace assault and inequality in pay. It took three years of my life to bring my former employer to justice for my assault. It was a long and hard fight.
I just don't know what I need to spend my near non existent energy on.

(11,323 posts)The same people fighting for justice all the time is flat out physically and emotionally draining. I think we're a a place of overload and that could be a factor as to why we haven't yet hit the streets en masse.

(41,915 posts)Im not asking anyone to give up their beliefs or stop having goals, but we on the left go at one another out of an understandable but dangerous terror from a lifetime of abuse. And the right takes advantage of the anger, the exhaustion, and the fear to put us against one another.
We need to talk and not take things out on one another. We need to respect our differences and work together without tearing one another down for not being perfect.
I truly think we are stronger together, in all ways.

(2,194 posts)or resilience to fight at the level I did in my twenties and thirties.
In my head I am whining that I shouldn't have to do this now, there should be others who can take my place, but it seems like there just aren't enough, if I don't stay in the fight.
I'm closer to 72 than 71 now. I need a break!! I need to see more people in power with the guts to do what's right. When is the cavalry going to arrive??

(14,887 posts)I'll be 72 in January. I feel like I've been doing this since 1965. I'm exhausted, worn out. My demonstrating days maxed out during W days. President Obama's tenure wasn't enough to regroup and recover. I welcomed the Indivisible and Huddle groups who turned Orange County Blue. They worked their butts off and it reaped the rewards. But there were many years spent in the wilderness for some dedicated activists.

(73 posts)I think its sad that we (America) cant even agree with the simple notion that we as women should be able to control our own bodies and make our own medical decisions.
I think its sad that we cant agree that your job should not fire you because you are gay, lesbian, bi, non-binary, or trans.
I think its sad that we as Americans think that having more melanin because of genetics means that youre suddenly a different / inferior form of a person. This is scientific illiteracy!
Most of all, however, I do not understand how a major portion of the country believes that the first and foremost job of the President should be to trigger the libs by any means necessary, even if it hurts the country. If Obama went to press conferences and foreign countries, and called Americans traitors and enemies, and constantly ranted about Republicans rather than doing his job, I would have supported his impeachment in a second. I cannot believe America has decided that this behavior is acceptable!
America would not recognize itself in the mirror anymore.

Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed and just want to say SCREW it, I force myself to remember one thing:
That is PRECISELY what the bad guys want. They WANT us discouraged and despondent, giving into our fears and dreads, and maybe the result of all their thoughts n prayers: that many of us will just throw up our hands, say the hell with it ALL, and give up. And stay home on Election Day. So they can step up, show up, and run the table (having cleared the field, as it were).
THATS the bottom line. And THATS why I WONT give up and stay home - thus handing the bad guys yet another in a continuing series of un-earned runs, freebies, and giveaway games. Cause thats what they want and dearly hope for. Well, sorry/NOT sorry! I AINT PLAYIN!

(2,766 posts)Its so tiring and so deeply sad to feel this way every hour of every day. If Im not overly optimistic imagining a return to something close to normalcy after a Democratic victory in 2020, I hope for two things. First, I hope we all get a chance to rest and heal. Second, I hope all of this is undone.

(805 posts)You said it all and I feel exactly as you do. All of these atrocities being done on a daily basis without a thought or a care by the f***ing rebuke party and the Trump worshippers. And every day, we hear about another national park or protected space that is destined to be plundered and destroyed by the rich friends of republicans so they can make more and more money. I'm still dumbstruck by the power that is wielded and used to the fullest by this administration. And the worst thing is that nothing seems to be able to be done about it. And some of these things will NEVER get back to normal again, even after this horrible reign of terror is over.
Every day, I check DU when I get up, hoping against hope that SOMETHING, ANYTHING has happened that will put an end to the orange menace's reign and the all the crimes, treason, and other horrors that have happened, and continue to happen on a daily basis, will come to and end. But every day, there is just more of the same.

I am personally furious over what the GOP-enabled Trump has done to this country.
And I don't believe he was even legitimately elected in the first place, he has shown that he is in this for strictly personal business reasons, and could care less abut the overall well-being of the country, its citizens, and our overall place in the global community.
IMPEACH NOW!
