Jack Shafer says that feud betwen Trump and Fox is faked

Here is a quote from Shafer's Politico article:

"Trump’s faux-fight with Fox is designed 1) to add drama and excitement to where there is none; 2) make him the primary focus of events; and 3) temporarily complicate the storyline so viewers keep watching. Fox benefits from Trump’s periodic attacks (remember when he boycotted one of Fox’s 2016 presidential debates because it wouldn’t dump Megyn Kelly from the broadcast). They make the channel look like it’s standing up to the president, and Fox ends up looking more independent and credible."

This whole "presidency" seems quite fake. Everything surrounding this orange, shitpile, moronic, asshole seems quite fake. I hope we can get rid of him in the next election. If not, please fill in your own damn blanks _________ ____ ______- _____-__------ .

Both of which Trump knows well in his pursuit of ratings. One mistake Trump makes the pretend villain in wrestling is not really hated, Trump is despised in real life. People who hate Fox also loathe Donald Trump. I might watch Fox if they were to waterboard Trump and Hannity simultaneously.

I mean, she deliberately had an off-the-record dinner with members of the press? Either she's nuttier than Duh Donald or it's a plot that makes her look ripe to join (and spy on) the enemy camp...

I think it's being over analyzed into a conspiracy theory.

Usually the best answer is the most simple one: Trump saw something on Fox that he didn't like and ran to Twitter to complain, and it probably goes no deeper than that.

That seems a lot more believable than the carefully thought out plan the writer imagines. Besides, Kellyanne would have leaked the info by now.

Doesn't seem all that effective to me though. They've made Trump look like even more of a dishonest authoritarian moron, and FOX risks losing some viewers to other further right wing media outlets.

Anecodtally, my right wing co-workers have been very silent about Trump and Fox News recently. They know they would be ripped to shreds by somebody if expressing support for anything going on.

Edit: His poll numbers have been dropping during this time, even with Rasmussen.

but a Wall Street shill. That being said the lack of reason and logical consistency - the lies, reversals, denials - are discombobulating to anyone with a brain, and anyone whose occupation relies on facts and truth, which Cavuto's does. To do otherwise is to be complicit in shredding sanity.

I used to like Cavuto on the Nightly Business Report, but i think he went right wing for Fox. Now Fox seems to me is either fearing the fallout from a reversal of political winds in the country, or they are trying to draw in the political middle before they go hard right before the election. You never know with these media types.

They are scheming for some reason or other?

Trump would never desert FOX News. FOX needs him for their ratings. They are dependent on each other.
