Do you think we could use a new cabinet position?

A person whose main job is dealing with gun law and gun violence control?

I don't know what the position would be called...

Secretary of national safety?

It could encompass all issues pertaining to gun safety (register all guns, as well as take tests pertaining to usage, and demonstrate our competence in responsible ownership, fines for non-compliance - just as we register our cars, take driving/written tests, pay fines and penalties) If I don't follow DMV rules, I can no longer drive! Why not the same for guns?

It could also apply to other areas. For example, what safety and protective measures could have been in place to prevent horrendous accidents such as the diving boat explosion near Santa Cruz Island in California.

Establishing a Department of Safety and Protections would NOT be an easy task, but we need to start somewhere.
