The freaking international airport was under five feet of water!
The water supply was compromised on Abaco.
Don’t see how they come back from this.

From the movie Key Largo.

And I’ve seen it happen twice. Georges and Wilma.

And this is much of what people talk about. Luckily the government seems to be somewhat proactive in many respects, but many of my friends are planning to relocate to the east.

This is truly horrifying.

We are not even minimally prepared for the results of climate change. The demographics of the world will dramatically change and we need to start learning how to all get along. ❤

2 1/2 years ago. I was hated on for it.
You already know how it’s gonna play out...
People will be hated on for trying to survive or find a new place to live their lives.
It’s not partisan hate either. Liberals here are also guilty of not wanting more people here. Disconcerting to say the least...in a “ free” country.

Hey all you refugee-haters - better get ready for more. MANY more.

You think you don’t like them now? You say you’re being invaded?

Just wait. The accelerating climate crisis is gonna drive many many many more of them northward - and right into YOUR midst. And walls won’t make any difference. No matter how high. Won’t make ANY difference.

Get used to it. Whether you like it or not, THAT’S gonna be the “new normal.”

Whether you like it or not.

The worst I have been at my home is exactly 4 feet of water in the basement. I have several neighbors, however, who have had water reach about 2 feet from the peak of their roof on a 2 story house. I helped a few of them gut their homes (ie: remove all possessions and remove all sheetrock) as per the Town and FEMA instructions. They then relocated and their homes were torn down.

One couple toured my area in a canoe, and they were ducking under electrical wires on telephone poles while doing so.
