NOAA staff ordered not to speak? WTF Holy cow

This is SO freaking worse than we could have ever imagined. It's not funny anymore. We've got some kind of Don Jung-Un now.

Former National Hurricane Center Director Bill Read blasted NOAA leadership Friday night on his Facebook page calling the situation “so disappointing” and saying he would comment because NOAA employees were ordered to be quiet.

“Either NOAA Leadership truly agrees with what they posted or they were ordered to do it
. If it is the former, the statement shows a lack of understanding of how to use probabilistic forecasts in conjunction with other forecast information. Embarrassing. If it is the latter, the statement shows a lack of courage on their part by not supporting the people in the field who are actually doing the work. Heartbreaking,” Read wrote.

It feels like I'm walking to the edge of the hurricane's eye 2 or 3 times a day now. Actually, Laura, my bearings are fine. What I need the drink for is the courage to talk to people who don't realize how ugly things are out there

can the President please stop arguing about Alabama? It's too late to save the people of Alabama. He needs to focus on Cape Cod and Maine.

"a statement from an unidentified spokesman"

Not credible enough for someone to put their name to it.

‘No anonymous sources,’ Trump scolds - after White House uses them

"WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump escalated his criticism of the news media Friday, taking direct aim this time at the use of anonymous sources. Reporters “shouldn’t be allowed to use sources unless they use somebody’s name,” he declared, just hours after members of his own staff held a press briefing and refused to allow their names to be used.
