Vets join McCready in Fayetteville march hours before Trump visit



Surrounded by veterans, District 9 congressional candidate Dan McCready held a get-out-the vote campaign event Monday just hours before President Trump was set to have a campaign stop to convince people to vote for his opponent.

McCready, a Democrat, reminded people at a speech at Veterans Park before his campaign march with the veterans into the downtown area that it was Republican fraud that led to the special election that is being held Tuesday.

He said the fraud committed by the Republican campaign in the first election involved stealing absentee ballots from voters’ doorsteps, forging voters’ signatures and filling in their vote choices.

“We saw them target the elderly,” he said. “They targeted African American voters. They targeted Native American voters. We saw what we know now was the largest case of election fraud in modern day American history. - Fay Observer
