A local hospital here in Sheboygan is on lockdown...

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. —
Sheboygan Memorial Hospital is on lockdown after a report that a man who may be armed was experiencing a mental health crisis, Sheboygan police said.

Police said they are in contact with the man.

Sheboygan police ask that all residents avoid the area until the incident is resolved. This includes going to the hospital for previously scheduled appointments.

Urban Middle School students were advised not to walk east toward the hospital when they left school, the school district told WISN 12 News.

5. We underestimate our degrees of separation from those in mass shootings & other disasters.

I have a goddaughter whose mother works at a Chicago hospital, but I didn't know which one.
Last December there was an active shooter at a Chicago hospital, but there are lots of hospitals there so I figured what were the odds it would be hers. But it was.
Then I thought, what were the odds her lab would be anywhere near the ER where the shooter was firing.
It was. Not only that, she was hunkered down in the lab with the others there when somebody turned the doorknob. There were shots fired in the hallway and when they got out the body of the shooter was there. She also knew the doctor who was killed.
I never thought I'd know a survivor of a mass shooting until I did.
