Batman walks 3-year-old to preschool after bullies gave her a black eye

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/batman-walks-3-yearold-to-preschool-after-bullies-gave-her-a-black-eye-224759220.html

After a three-year-old girl came home from preschool with bruises on her face and a black eye, she finally opened up to her mother that she was being bullied by her classmates. That's when Batman stepped in. He walked the little girl, Lydia, to school to inform her bullies that she was his "best friend" and he would be back to check on her.

Lydia's mom, Erica Calculli, of Spring Hill, Fla., initially believed that the marks her daughter came home with were accidental, possibly from other children unknowingly playing too roughly.

"At first it was very minor and I thought it happened just playing around, so I let it go," Calculli told WTSP. But, toward the end of August, Lydia came home with a swollen red and black eye.

"She told me that a bunch of girls and one boy hit her, and a girl threw a shoe at her eye," Calculli said.

without adult intervention? Where was the teacher? Is there no supervision at that preschool?

I would document the injury, as well as the fact that I reported it to the school, and then she if they didn't protect my kid.

Since it's hard to find daycare/preschool in the US, there might be no other place to put the child while Mom works, but she needs to force the school to protect her daughter.

there are always a couple of teachers out there watching the kids.
Why would kids as young as 3 or 4 be left out to play unattended?
That needs some explanation.

But it's heartbreaking that it should happen to a three year old. The
staff should have intervened before it got as far as it obviously did.

Our kid is in preschool toddlers 2-3 yrs old and I dont think there is any way this could happen. There are always at least one teacher there all day. Our little boy got bit a couple of times but that was an immediate reaction to fighting over a toy or something. Also, there is always an official report from the preschool when there is an incident like that. All parents are informed in writing. Not sure what is going on but repeated bullying without the teachers being aware seems unlikely.

I would have raised hell at the school. This is outrageous that this happens to a 3 year old.

rather than approach the day care to get a handle on why that had happened, etc. I just find it horrible when a three year old is subjected to something like this.

unsupervised and let them run wild? If it were my kid an attorney would be making sure her college fund was getting placed in the bank by whoever runs the place.
