They think they have the right of way everywhere and get angry if you don’t clear out of their way. I’ve had them get yell at me for not getting out of their way when there was plenty of room to go around me. Why should people have to step off a 10 ft wide paved path for a cyclist. I won’t do it.

where I live there are tons of cyclists and we don't seem to have any problems with them - I bet they have problems with inattentive drivers though....no way would I get on a bike on the road

Never more!

Blasting music, bunny hopping dog leashes, blasting red lights when we had to get on the street.

Motherfuckers need to stop that!

I ride at 6AM, solo

I was crossing the street headed toward the Market, the light changed and I stepped off and was hit on my left side by someone who had run the bicycle lane's red light. Since 2nd is one-way (southbound) to automobile traffic I never thought I'd need to check for traffic headed northbound when I got the walk signal. When he hit me I said, "You had a red light!". He just said, "Yeah", and rode off while I was still brushing myself off and checking myself out.

The light had been red for a LONG time, since that one stops the bicycles for the left-turning traffic from 2nd onto Pike, then it goes green on Pike and the pedestrian WALK light comes on.

Fortunately I wasn't badly injured - just a big bruise on my left leg where his front tire hit me.

I'd be raising hell with the local authorities, if assaults like this one were going on as a regular thing.

Sorry, John C. Reilly, but there are some people who are 100% a dick.

At motorist dimensions, cyclists and pedestrians can totally avoid each other. If the cyclist had exercised the least bit of caution, there wouldn't have been any conflict at all. He could have gone behind the pedestrian with no trouble. The pedestrian was walking a line at a deliberate pace (i.e., not meandering or heading in three directions in two steps). According to the narrative, the cyclist ran a red light in the first place, which puts him totally in the wrong in my opinion and experience.

Once the conflict happened, the cyclist should have kept on his way. No blood, no foul. Instead, he comes back to head butt the pedestrian. I would wager a quid that the cyclist votes Tory. Asshole.

is white and the pedestrian is black... just sayin'.

Okay, so I watched it again and I was mistaken about the pedestrian. They are both white but the cyclist is still a fucking asshole.
