Unscheduled announcement today with HHS Secretary Alex Azar to announce plans to ban flavored e-cigs. Melania was also there. She had Tweeted (I think) yesterday some concern with the dangers of vaping, etc. yesterday. Trump also discussed how this was a very big business (and big business is good).

32. I've largely poo-pooed the dementia theory about this guy, but the way he forgot

to associate Melania as his wife and her son as his is very familiar to me. My mom has dementia, and it's not just the forgetting, it's the WAY of forgetting. He knows he knows Melania, but doesn't quite associate her with being his wife, and by extension her kid is his kid. My mom knows me by sight, knows my name etc - but she often thinks I'm her stepdaughter, and asks hows my mom doing. She knows she knows me, and even knowing my name she can't connect me being her actual daughter.

This struck me the same way. He knows he knows Melania, he knows she has a son, and he's significant somehow - but momentarily could not associate Melania = wife, so her son by extension he didn't associate as his.
