There are some under-appreciated Dems out there, a little under the radar. Andy RICHTER is one, with his tweets that are wholly DU in character.
Joy BEHAR is well known enough as a good Dem/Lib, what I would call myself a *broad brush* Dem, yet because she is sort of "standard", sort of "safe", is somewhat under-valued. So, hear hear for Joy and Andy!!!!
That said, today Joy had a minute to say something, and she did, saying that we're making a choice to save ourselves and the country from SHITLER, that anybody can have quibbles about any of the candidates, but almost all of them are *broadly* in agreement about health care, climate change, and the environment and that BROADLY SPEAKING any quibble type of difference or falling short is negligible on the part of any of them, who will any of them do the right thing - absolutely by comparison with SHITLER or any Repuke for that matter.
**********Hoo kay, that said, then came Whoopi, who said that what she's missing or lacking and wanting to hear from a candidate is to not assume that people are dissatisfied with the health insurance they have, that what's wrong from the current and recent past is "removing choice," having the government plans forcing people to give up those private plans that they have.

(32,609 posts)She used Republican framing and called them death taxes. Doesn't think she should pay them. Every since I don't give a shit what Whoopi says. She is selfish and self-centered.

(70,674 posts)in 2004 I felt bad for her because the Dem campaign threw her under the bus over her using the F-word about Repukes or something like that. I forget, but think she was made to apologize and the Dems froze her out.
But then, as you say, she has traveled over there in some things, maybe not totally. In these later The View years she has gotten a bit more wingnut-entitled, like how she says she draws lines about having her fame encroaching on her privacy, how she doesn't want fans intruding and bothering her - fine, I get that - but frequently how her money is her money and wants to keep (all) of it, lower or almost no taxes. And then last year she seems to have withdrawn from the show in general and from standard Lib outspokenness, and has taken on the role of defending and protecting McCAIN. A couple of weeks ago she reprimanded Debra MESSING about Deb's wanting to expose and not work with actors who donate to SHITLER.
Jon LOVETT is another one. I don't know whether he actually voted for SHITLER, but he lambasted Dems about raising HIS taxes.

(70,674 posts)realized it, which was within a few minutes, not a couple of days now. And I choose not to Delete things while Editing them because the former usually carries an implication of pretending something never happened (despite the Edit History), whereas the Editing shows consciousness of acknowledgement. The feature that would be more useful to me personally would be the Strikeout, which would show the change.
And I'm sure, haha, that the entire internet community is breathing easier now to gain profound insight into my personal preferences about my peccadilloes. I also don't uses emojis or smilies or whichever they are, such as the "sarcasm" one.
*********ON EDIT: And this thread had fairly run its course and might well have sunk away, which, you know, you might have let that process go merrily along, but your choice was to kick and revive it, but most of all doing so for a tangential and insubstantial point that both deflected from the valid subject of the thread and its otherwise pleasant interaction and opened the possibility for flaming.
To follow through on your Editing lesson, I would gladly Delete this/current post if you would Delete yours, which was gratuitously a tad condescending and patronizing. Haha.

don't have premium plans from their employers. There are co-pays, payroll deductions, and 4-6k deductions that come out of your pocket when you actually have to use insurance for an injury or illness before the health care coverage takes effect so it's really like having no coverage since most emergency health needs don't reach that 4-6k cost threshold.
So most employees are out of co-pays each time a family members visits their precious doctor they want to keep so badly, and then pharmacy costs and the dreaded big one, the 4-6k deduction when a family member really needs to used their healthcare plan. And don't forget the deduction from every paycheck.
I don't think people really like their employer plan, they've been programed by repugs and media to think their plan is so great when it really isn't.

(29,098 posts)Ultimately, those that can see what ever medical provider they choose at an affordable rate just don't think others should have the same plan they do....They like the fact their money and status can afford them more than others. There is no incentive for them to give a shit....Unfortunately, for many...that's what the American Dream is all about and why the Socialists are coming tropes get their ire up.....

(7,261 posts)She's more a libertarian than a liberal.
She thinks she should receive a refund when her health care costs are less than her health insurance premiums. She talks about this frequently. Somebody from that show really needs to tell her high and mighty self exactly how insurance works.
Also please clue her in that she is a one-percenter and has more money than most of her audience. Not that she cares but maybe she can not be so obnoxious about it.

(82,849 posts)There will always be ways to jump the line (real or imagined), and there will always be doctors and clinics that cater to the "discriminating" patient. For a small extra fee, money that wealthy people lose in the couch cushions, but that represents a substantial portion of your or my annual salary can get a rich man or woman right in. Hell, house calls might make a comeback. To the right zip codes.
