Trump/Republicans are ignoring the Constitution while we play by the rules

What America has always been is being flushed down the toilet. And we Dems are making believe that the Constitution is still in effect.

It's not. Our Contitution died in the year 2000, the day that the Supreme Court stopped the Florida recount for president and appointed George W. Bush to the presidency.

Well look where that's led us. We now have a madman in power. And we have a Republican Party, silent, and letting America drown is a dystopia of orange insanity.

Trump is nuts. And the Republican Party has gone nuts. And the rest of us are making believe that the next election is going to be fair, that a Dem prez will come to power, and that "a normal America" will return.

Would everyone please wake the fuck up and see what's being done to us. Republicans never gave a shit about anyone but themselves. And now they have their perfect leader: "I'm for me, fuck everybody else."

The Republicans declared war on us a few decades ago, yet, we're still making believe that there are some kind or rules in effect. There aren't.

Sooo, it's time we all understood that our country is being run by people who don't give a shit whether the rest of us live or die. And it seems to me that we are in some fantasy world about "taking over" at the next election. I hope that's so. But we're up against a stacked deck.

The single, most important thing we must recognize is that the Republicans are in a full scale, non-shooting, war against us. It's past time we stopped playing nice and realized that reality.

I don't have the answers as to how principled people and a principled party fight these pricks who would destroy democracy. But fight back we must. And, yes, we must vote. But they count the votes in too many places.

So how do we fight the war we're in? If I knew, you'd see the answer right here. But the reality is that the answer must come from all of us here, in unison.

1. Criminals never play the rules, but laws are needed to put someone in jail

Even with the bought and paid for Justices, we never stand a chance in making charges stick if procedures aren't followed.

The GOP tried to railroad Bill Clinton, but never made it out of the Senate. All they were able to do was muddy him up and get his license pulled, but that was all political.

4. Cable T V and news has us programed.

WE pay to watch t v, advertisers pay them, both Political parties pay them and the moral of my two cents is they control what they tell us and do not tell us. They get money coming and going, what incentive do they have to be honest? So called news especially needs more regulation. Tell us every show if it is opinion or real news. Do not mix it all in. 24 hour news is a joke. I left cable years ago. i get some of it on Hulu but usually pass over even MSNBC its so what? programed?

5. What Republicans do that our Reps don't.

When they get power, they put pliant people into key functions that society has grown to trust. Anti-environmentalists to "lead" the EPA, climate change deniers to lead agencies that do research on climate change, people that have no issue with lying to lead Inspector General's offices, Judges that are clearly biased onto the Courts, ect.

We follow the laws that exist or go through the painstaking process of rewriting laws and getting Congress to approve them. You have to look no farther than tariffs, the Constitution gives Congress that responsibility, yet Trump has unilaterally set tariffs his entire administration.

There is a reason why Trump has Andrew Jackson's portrait behind his desk (as someone on DU wisely pointed out a few months back). Jackson ignored a Supreme Court ruling by essentially saying the Court could not enforce that ruling. Military officers gladly did what Jackson commanded them to do, or kept their mouths shut as inhuman tragedy took place. Don't count on the military and police forces, there are many officers of all ranks, Special Forces, grunts, street cops that would gladly do anything Trump ask them to do, including gunning down fellow citizens in our street. The only question is do we have ANY active military and police that will step forward to prevent them from doing that, if the situation comes to that level?
