A teen allegedly wanted to 'shoot 400 people for fun.' Cops found an AK-47 in her bedroom.

Alexis Wilson was working an afternoon shift at the local Pizza Inn in McAlester, Okla., on Sunday, when she pulled a co-worker aside to boast about her new gun.

The slight 18-year-old with large brown eyes clutched her iPhone and pressed play on a video of her shooting a newly purchased AK-47, according to an incident report. Then Wilson told the other teenage waitress how much she resented the people at her old school — allegedly adding that she wanted to “shoot 400 people for fun.”

The chilling conversation shook Wilson’s co-worker. She reported it to a manager, who called the McAlester police.

On Monday, the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office said Wilson was charged with a felony for making a terrorist threat against McAlester High School.

2. When I was in high school in the 70's, there probably wasn't even one kid that had an

assault rifle, and most likely not even one under 21 in the whole town. That's in Idaho too. We knew what AR-15's and all that were and a local gun shop usually had an AR. We maybe thought it would be cool to have, but it was illegal to hunt anything but varmints with one. We didn't waste our money on those, which if I recall, were very expensive.

I'd be interested to know how the prices of those compare now to then. I would guess now they are way cheaper factoring in inflation. Mass marketing those things has not been helpful.

Odds are this child has been exposed to hate messaging at home and/or in a peer group for many years.

Authorities say Wilson was expelled from the high school after violent incidents and that she had been suspended on separate occasions after being caught with a knife and a swastika at school. She wasn't allowed to re-enroll.

My hope is we can find new ways to stop the spread of hate and political extremism that's being promoted on talk radio, social media and right-wing TV. Surely there's a way. We're failing to address how children like her got to be this way and take it into main stream conversation.

This issue comes down to far more than just electing Democrats. The erosion of our communities and division of our populace into warring tribal factions must stop or else we'll be nothing but a soulless fascist plutocracy.
