The acting DNI's actions indicate that trump & the GOP don't intend to

run a free and fair election next fall.

The rule of law doesn't apply to them.

They're not going to go back to the days of oversight, rules, and norms.

The question is, what are we going to do about it?

My fear is they could openly steal it, and then what? Who stops them? The military? The Supreme Court?

This is not a crazy question when you look at their outrageous and completely illegal conduct thus far.

In my opinion, the only way to stop this train is to lock the acting DNI up for contempt and re-establish some form of control. Restraint and niceties at this time may seem like the politically expedient way to go, but it will ultimately lead to the end of the USA, possibly as soon as next year.

We need to consider the possibility that the time to impose consequences for Republicans' mendacious, malignant and antidemocratic behavior was years ago. Instead, we "looked forward".

Now it simply may be too late. They have captured most of the government including the courts and they are willing to simply ignore not only norms but laws and the Constitution to maintain and expand their power. And why shouldn't they? What are the consequences?

Just a slight misstep in the Middle East this week could spiral out of control with who knows what consequences. Not sure there are any cool heads to be found in the administration. Keep those fingers crossed.
