It would hurt the Constitution to confirm to Trump and his Republicans that they can ignore it by letting them abuse their positions of power. We need to put the Republicans in a position where they can't destroy the Constitution by flouting it during the full exercise of one of its explicit powers: impeachment.

UTTER FUCKING MADNESS...

But stop thinking it will get rid of trump.

Only the 2020 election can get rid of trump.

No matter how much head banging you do you can’t get the Repubs to convict trump.

Do you think failing to impeach or convict makes it more likely he will lose in 2020? Support failing to impeachment or convict.

Do you think not Failing to impeach or convict makes it more likely he loses in 2020? Do not support impeachment.

I favor the latter. All those yelling for Impeachment now will be demoralized to the point of giving up when it fails. And it will.

And all this ‘do the right thing’? Give me a break. This is politics. The only thing that matters is the winning thing. Sad but has always been true. If you lose you can do nothing. Right or wrong. Had we not won the house last year they would have gotten their shit together and what is happening now would look like paradise because they would have put all this shit into law rather than things a Democratic President can overturn in her or his first week in office.

He is already an illegitimate president...talking about an electoral college won by 70 thousand votes over 3 states...

Your premise is that we will win in an electoral system rigged by republicans...

What have you learned..?

I will not be demoralized, because everyday there will be another lying puke coming before the hearings cameras lying to the American people...

And if it ever gets to the senate vote SO FUCKING WHAT IF THEY VOTE NO...IT WILL AT LEAST BE PROVEN TO EVERYONE ELSE HOW CORRUPT THESE SLIMEBALLS ARE...

And what options do you offer? He will not be removed from office. No how, no way. Not happening. We will never get 67 votes in the senate to do so.

In my mind to continue focusing on an impossibility is insanity. It’s like basing your retirement on the lottery.

But we can beat him at the polls. We just did it last year. So it defies logic to focus on anything but the one way we have to remove him.

impeachment after he loses?? That crazy talk. No need after that point. And even if we win the senate we will never have 67 votes. To pretend otherwise is delusional.

But if we have no chance of removing him from office, and our only hope is winning in 2020, why change the focus from what won for us in 18. It’s not like his is anymore batshit crazy now. OK. Some. But many of his supporters love it.

It comes down to this: do you think a failed impeachment helps us win in 2020.

He is not only going to face the hundreds of lawsuits and the criminal liability he has, but we can impeach after he is drug out of the White House by marshals...

The answer to your question is...another more important question...

How do we look if we do not impeach the most corrupt president in America’s history.?

I think a failed attempt to remove him from office would devastate us. Give him a win.

And we will never have 67 votes in the senate to convict.

As it stands now we do not, and will not have the votes in the house to impeach. We finally ran a 50 state primary and it took us to victory. Which means we now have a much more moderate House than 3 years ago. But a house where we are in the majority

Only an incompetent leader brings up a vote she knows will lose.

Speaker Pelosi in hardly incompetent.

And the Senate? He is not being removed from office until the 2020 elections. No way, no how.

We need to focus on that. Not some impeachment and conviction fantasy.

It is 100% political.

In politics there is no right or wrong. Just winning.

In my opinion if we try to impeach and fail we all but insure a trump win in 2020.

If we keep talking about how we are going to improve Americans lives thru Democratic policies while at the same time continuing to investigate and dig up dirt on trump it gives us the best chance of winning.

All this said with one thing firmly in mind. We will Never get 67 votes to remove him from office.

He is going to serve till he loses, is term limited out, or dies.

Social media is filled with righteousness indignation about how things should be but aren't. They need someone to lay blame on so they don't have to actually get out and work in the streets to effect real change and oust Trump. Which is why we can't get more people as pissed off as we are. They're content to complain on line and feel like they're "activists" in the real world. Bots do that, not real activist.

Americans apparently are lazy keyboard warriors. It's pitiful, really.

They don't turn because they've already accepted his bad parts, no matter WHAT they are. After all of this, he probably could murder someone and still retain 30% of his 40% (as long as it was a refugee, Muslim, or a liberal).

I believe he will be repudiated pretty hard in 2020. And that's what MUST happen if we are to do any kind of "fixing" of this. His voters aren't all going to die. They need to experience a pretty big failure in order to find change.

... some House members reluctant to vote, also. What if even the House failed to start impeachment? She must know how many votes she has... and there may be losses, for some of those votes. As far as the Senate goes, the present Senate will not convict. If they do, we get President Pence running as a grandfatherly incumbent "healer" - no thank you. I think the best we can do is a few Republicans - we need 67 to convict. I don't even think Moscow Mitch will allow a vote.
