Election 2019: Bryan Tanner for Mishawaka (IN) City Council
Mishawaka City Council member Bryan Tanner lives in The Oaks neighborhood in Mishawaka, near Battell Park. Bryan and his wife Cari have a son (Phillip), daughter (Charlee), and are guardians of their teenage nephew (Anthony). He is a committed public servant and volunteer who also has twelve years of professional experience in civil engineering and has worked with non-profit organizations for most of his life.
Mr. Tanner serves in an At-Large (citywide) seat on the Mishawaka City Council and is chair of the Public Health and Safety Long Range Planning Committee. He had previously been a member of the citys Historic Preservation Commission and Redevelopment Commission.
Bryan has been enveloped in the community his entire life starting with scouting during his early years and earning the rank of Eagle. He continues those community efforts having served as president of the Mishawaka Lions Club and as an active member and volunteer within the organization. Bryan has been awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship and Lion of the Year as recognition for his contributions to the community through Lions.
As a former member of the board of directors for United Way of St. Joseph County, and now dedicating his efforts full-time to this organization, Bryan works toward decreasing poverty and improving social and economic outcomes for members of our community. He is also a board member of the Mishawaka Business Association and active with the South Bend Regional Chambers Young Professionals Network. Beyond formal involvement with the organizations previously mentioned, Bryan hosts regular neighborhood meetings, coaches youth sports, and volunteers for various local events.
