(43,240 posts)Three who are not terrible at all but I so wish would change one thing
Jared Golden Me. 2 For Country Caucus
Conor Lamb Pa. 17 For Country Caucus
Max Rose N.Y. 11 No Labels Problem Solvers Caucus, New Democrat Coalition, Blue Dog Coalition, For Country Caucus
for one reason
All 3 are in the For Country Caucus, which is bi-partisan and funded by Howard Schultz and Bezos and its PAC is supporting a Rethug against the great freshwoman Democratic Rep. Katie Hill from CA-25
snip
also the 3 worst Dems in the entire caucus IMHO
the first gets a pass because he is in a ruby Red district, Collin C. Peterson Minn. 7 Blue Dog Coalition, No Labels Problem Solvers Caucus, and he is about all we can get there
but then these two have no excuses as they are in safe Blue districts
they are anti-LGBTQ, anti-choice, anti-immigrant, anti climate change action etc etc
Daniel Lipinski Ill. 3 Blue Dog Coalition, No Labels Problem Solvers Caucus
Henry Cuellar Tex. 28 Blue Dog Coalition, New Democrat Coalition
Lipinski's campaign sent out mailings and flyers calling Marie Newman (backed by EMILYS List and most all other big national Dem orgs) a Holocaust Denier and other bullshit , plus his voting record on key issues is horrid (he STILL is anti gay marriage (full disclosure I am a married lesbian) and is a virulent pro-lifer, etc
https://www.democraticunderground.com/1287270714#post82
Cuellar fundraised and campaigned for a Climate Change Denier Rethug (John Carter) against MJ Hegar (who is now running against Rethug Cornyn in TX for Senate) and is the biggest Dem recipient in terms of private prison money from the Trump scandal-entangled GEO Group who now run the immigrant concentration camps, and also gets the most Dem fossil fuel money, he also takes Koch money, is A-rated by the NRA, etc etc

Both are being primaried, and although I never advocate primarying centrists in swing and red districts (like Collin Peterson, he is the best we can hope for there), but I SO want Newman (she is trying again) to take out Lipinski, and so want Jessica Cisneros to take out Cuellar as they are both in safe blue districts (Lipinskis has been Rethug held for TWO years since the 1950's, and that was after the 1972 Nixon blowout) and Cuellar's has never been held by a Rethug, sometimes they do not even bother to run a candidate.

(17,331 posts)Having seen her several times, I'll bet her heart is in favor of impeachment. But she's a freshman in a red district in a very red state that hasn't elected a Democrat in decades, so she's really not going to commit any time soon.

(25,183 posts)the issue of "getting it together and doing something", while their GOP opponents branded them as "Nancy Pelosi's rubber stamp." They overcame that slur, and won on promises to engage in positive legislation and not continued partisan bickering.
Any freshman who flips a seat from one party to the other is always considered quite vulnerable for the next election. It's very hard to build a record of achievement in two years that can show the district why they should be re-elected. It's also very easy for an opponent trying to switch a seat back to the party that held it by slamming the new Representative as a tool of more extreme members of their party.

(25,183 posts)won his House seat by less than 4,000 votes in 2018. This was Mark Sanford's old district. It had been held continuously by the GOP from the 1980 election forward. This was also the district held by Tim Scott before he became a Senator from SC.
The biggest reason Cunningham won was that his GOP opponent, Katie Arrington, successfully primaried Sanford, and he didn't endorse her in the general election.
Joe knows that he's walking a tightrope here. He kept his promise not to vote for Nancy Pelosi if elected to Congress:

If he senses that this looks like a trap, he will not fall into it.

(43,240 posts)she is far more centrist than she campaigned as
and has turned out to be an anti marijuana warrior
She campaigned in the primary as a progressive (against Welder, who had AOC campaigning for him) said all the right things (including pro MFA, free tuition at public uni, etc etc) to pull in many from the left, but then when she won the general and went to DC she refused to join the Progressive Caucus and turned around that same day and joined the New Democratic Coalition (similar to the Blue Dogs) and claimed she never supported any of the progressive things she had said she did in the primary. That is how the bad blood started between AOC's ex chief of staff and her, the stuff that got completely misrepresented as if he attacked her out of the blue, when all he did was respond to a question that specifically asked about her.
All water over the dam now, but I knew she would not sign on easy.

There are only 3 left who are in safe seats: Gabbard (SMDH), Kind (he won by almost 20 points in 2018), and Johnson (and she may have have said she supports, it is still unclear)
all the rest are in really shaky or outright Red districts

based off her Tweets, I am removing McBath and Lamb. woot woot
Johnson will soon come off and maybe Torres Small
the other 10 will be tough
2 of them (Kind and Gabbard) have NO excuse, as they are in Safe Blue seats (as is Johnson)

(15,270 posts)He won his election by 10pts over a well-known incumbent. It's a swing-ish seeming district, but the western Allegheny county suburbs like Mt Lebo make it much more challenging for an R to win. I live in the largest geographic area - which is Trump territory - but it also has fewer people than the smaller geographic part of Allegheny County.
I know that Lamb's constituents are calling his offices and attended his 2 town halls asking him to support impeachment. For someone who continually touts being a former Marine, he's not very brave. He's been a
disappointment.
