(42,862 posts)I just sent this link to my son and his husband to get their opinion... and they both laughed. The didn't think it was offensive or a slur at all, and their interpretation was much the same as yours.

If we don't, who knows. He might someday be in charge of our faux elections at the national level, deciding who they'll allow to be on our ballots and managing the electoral process. Or maybe secretary of defense for a neocon white nationalist government divvying the planet up between us, Russia and China; he's certainly wanted that big time in the past.
The Republican leadership is using known fascistic techniques for taking over democracies, including instilling massive corruption and smashing laws and norms. The 2016 presidential race and Georgia's governor's election, to name just two among many stolen U.S. elections, and neither of which had remedy through the courts (in GA especially courts were packed and laws written to enable election theft), are not anomalies but proof of intent and models for the future.
