If I were in their shoes, I would HATE to have someone holding kompromat on me. I might not speak out publicly, but if I saw a way to end this quickly, I might be tempted.

Let’s show Trump’s behavior to be as radioactive and indefensible as it deserves. That looks like the plan.

A secret, anonymous vote would allow GOP senators to vote for conviction, then be able to go back to their constituents and say “I love Trump, of course I voted against removal!” And avoid any blowback because nobody knows who actually voted for removal.

All that goes by the wayside and the House and the whole country focus on this one Issue? Better hope that goes really, really well.

And yeah, what about his violations of the Emoluments and the obstruction and other matters detailed in the Mueller Report plus a myriad of other matters involving his AG, Pompy Minus and others?

After careful deliberation, I'm supporting the House of Representatives taking the first step in an impeachment process, beginning an impeachment inquiry.

I remember what you do, and how Trump and the republicans manage to weasel their way out of every crime they have ever committed.

I am not celebrating until it's a done deal. I can't bear to be heartbroken again. I just don't trust the system anymore.

Our people are doing the right thing, but I never underestimate their ability to lie and cheat their way out of every pickle they have ever been in. I really fucking hate them with a passion.

Yesterday, the House officially launched a formal impeachment inquiry into President Trump. This administration has continuously obstructed and stonewalled all attempts by Congress to seek information and testimony from ongoing investigations.

a political opponent is incredibly serious and must be thoroughly investigated. To do otherwise would betray the very foundations of our democracy. No one is above the law including the President. Let’s be clear: I have been for an impeachment inquiry since 2017 -

@DwightEvansPA

and with every action by the President, more and more members have come to see that an impeachment inquiry is necessary. It's our duty to work for the citizens of this country as written into the Constitution created here in Philadelphia 243 years ago. History is watching. - DE

A majority of the House now backs impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, a significant milestone as Democrats move rapidly on an impeachment inquiry.

As of Wednesday night, 218 lawmakers have indicated support for impeachment proceedings — 217 Democrats and independent Rep. Justin Amash.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi offered full-throated support for impeachment proceedings amid outrage over Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate the Biden family, leading to a surge of support among Democrats this week.

Impeachment in the House is only step one. Conviction in the Senate is necessary to finalize the impeachment. That won't happen. We can't even get Repubs in the House to act; the Senate won't convict. Trump will claim final exoneration--exactly what Speaker Pelosi was concerned about from the beginning. Slow-walking the impeachment hearings is the best strategy, but don't send it to the Senate.
