Trump is not mentally ill or crazy
He is an aged doddering sociopath narcissist authoritarian. Quit lumping trump monster with the mentally ill or the stigma reinforcing words like crazy.
He is falling apart because the ego of a narcissist is fragile once you expose his games and tear away the mask they wear because they are empty and devoid of empathy. He fears he is a loser ,and the republicans are also sociopath narcissist and authoritarian too. It is a part of who they are. Which is not mental illness or trauma inflicted wounds. Trumps personality is who he is is the problem, not a mental illness.

6. Narcissism is a mental illness, though I do get your overall point.
Racism, sexism and greed drive the train. Greed for wealth and power. Racism and sexism as the primary tools to acquire said wealth and power. That's the Republican Party of the last 50+ years in a nutshell.

11. Trumps lack of consience is who he is
It's a bad personality not a mental illness
A mental illness can heal via therapy a sociopath gets worse with therapy and the narcissist never heals because it's who they are.mental illness definition has a hope of recovery. Sociopath narcissist and authoritarians cannot be healed because it's who they are. Mental retardation cannot be cured it is what it is,likewise certain personalities bad people do not change it can't be helped via therapy any more than therapy cures retardation. That is the difference. |

8. Trump doesn't "fear" he's a loser, he KNOWS it...
A narcissist's biggest fear is that his weakness will be exposed. What he fears is that everybody will see that he is a loser. That's why he cheats, lies, and steals his way to "success."
That is why narcissists don't tolerate being made fun of. It is a public display of his weakness. A cardinal rule in any gang or authoritarian society is "Nobody laughs at the boss." In the end, that rule has to be enforced above all others. That is why the first 3 commandments emphasize the ultimate authority of God. |

9. He's a malignant narcissist--not mental illness but personality disorder AND experiencing dementia
signs and symptoms. Not end-stage by any means, but progressed sufficiently to be noticeable if you study him over the past years and months. From his frequent dilated pupils, dry mouth, intermittent uncontrolled mouth movements and sweating-- and balance issues, he is medicated as well. Given he is not consistently showing the same side effects, it may well be a combination of "indicated" specifically prescribed medications and perhaps those that may be more targeted to "getting him through his rallies and other public events (e.g., adderall that he reportedly used in the past) on days when he needs the highly stimulating effects of amphetamine.
No, he is not mentally ill. He is, however a very disturbed individual whose personality defects are made even worse by his need to compensate for the progressive loss of mental and physical function. Malignant narcissists frequently decompensate into paranoia and abusive attacks when their behaviors or failures are pointed out. And that is Trump now to a "t". |

Trump having some form of dementia.
But he isn't mentally ill. Sociopath narcissist or authoritarians Should be kept seperates from people who have mental illness and trauma wounding. Narcissists should not be tolerated and treated as if they have a mental illness Keep them seperated from vulnerable people in treatment/recovery. For they are toxic to others. |

43. Ahem... You have apparently not followed the voices of the large numbers of psychiatrists
and associated neurologists and mental health professionals who have spoken out both publicy under "duty to warn" in opposition to the Goldwater era APA "rule" that takes no notice of the scores of media material available over decades of time to evaluate in our current era.
Nothing I posted is inconsistent with those interpretations. Try starting with Dr. Bandy Lee (Yale Forensic Psychiatrist who convened the first conference of similarly concerned mental health professions https://theglobepost.com/2019/04/08/yale-psychiatrist-donald-trump/ culminating with the group "Duty to Warn" https://twitter.com/duty2warn and the writings of David Reiss, MD (https://twitter.com/duty2warn) John Talmadge, MD https://twitter.com/duty2warn as a start. If you have any medical professionals in hour household, I can direct them to some member-only forums of neurological professionals to peruse as well. But, your comment, though unwarranted is noted. Enjoy your Saturday. |

13. I can honestly tell you, Trump is seriously mentally ill.
I know because I work with the mentally ill. I am starting to believe Trump suffers from delusions. Trump does not hear things or see people who are not there. I have worked with people like that. His delusions are more subtle. The way Trump looked at, took the Mueller report was not normal. He saw something that was not there, it did not exist. He believed it cleared him.
Trump may be more dangerous than we realize. |

You've described and explained things perfectly. I totally agree with you.
I'm certainly not inclined to be one of those who ONLY attributes his behavior to simple meanness or authoritarianism. It's not an insult to other mentally ill people to frankly and honestly state that Trump is also mentally ill. Words like "crazy" and "idiot" have lost any stigma they may have had back in the day. I have no problem with calling him a "kook" or "loon" either. His behavior can easily be explained by his inappropriate use of drugs or his unwillingness to use the ones that could actually help him. |

Yes, he does suffer from delusions because his narcissism is so extreme that he has great difficulty conceiving that he could do any wrong. Plus his narcissism causes him to indulge in the most extreme forms of confirmation bias; Dunning-Kreuger syndrome. |

Being mentally ill does not mean you cannot control or be responsible for your behavior or that you do not understand right or wrong (insanity). It appears to me he may have panic attacks and is lapping up on the shores of Paranoia.
The best summary statement I have heard is that Donald Trump is like no one you have ever met in real life. I have worked with people that require two people in the same room. I would never want to be in the same room with Trump. |

30. Perfect. "He is an aged doddering sociopath narcissist authoritarian".
If he's mentally ill, he sure is high functioning.... considering how well he has done for himself even if it's done through grifting and conning.
I think you're right that what people are seeing is his narcissistic response to being rejected time and time again. He has zero coping skills for this other than abuse. When his abuse isn't working like he wants it to he regresses to childlike behaviors where a child has a tantrum because they can't understand why they aren't getting what they want or getting their way. Does he have signs of dementia or alzheimers? Is it oxygen deprived dementia (sniffing all the time)? Who knows. Without an exam by professional board certified doctor, I think 'aged doddering' is no doubt an apt description. |

two of the main symptoms of sowb are greed and authoritarianism and it is caused when impatient satisfaction-demanding reproductive impulses are diverted to the left side of the brain. which is what happens when you learn sex with the right hand. it used to be a survival benefit and that's why 90% of humans are now right handed.
