@atrupar
Clarification: apparently 60 Minutes got this wrong and the whistleblower is currently seeking federal protection, citing the presidents statements, but is not currently under federal protection

(18,837 posts)...obviously, if something contradicts this info, we can share it here. Things are happening at light speed and mistakes are going to happen based on immediate reporting. Aaron Rupar has been a very dependable source, which is why I posted his tweet.

(3,473 posts)Capitol Police to provide protection. That might only work if the whistleblower lives in DC. idk

(33,112 posts)Here we have a person who's doing the correct action in line with the law who's in fear for their safety and meanwhile the real betrayer of the system is jetting around to what are nominally his golf courses on the taxpayer's dime as free as a bird twitting away with mouthfuls of murderous threats of violent actions.
Speaking of Twitter... How is this okay with their so-called TOS? Seems like a double standard to me. Rich people get to threaten others with impunity, but, if someone not so rich mildly irritates someone they get immediately and summarily TOS'ed.
Their rules are a farce.

(34,043 posts)"60 Minutes," which first obtained the letter, originally reported that the contents suggested the whistleblower was under federal protection. However, lawyer Mark S. Zaid in a statement to The Hill said the news outlet "completely misinterpreted the contents of our letter."
