(which doesn't apply to situations where the lawyer isn't giving legal advice) and executive privilege (which doesn't apply to discussions in furtherance the commission of a crime or where one of the parties is not and never has been a government official).

R's placing such weight "executive privilege" is risky, unless.... SCOTUS is ready to expand the legal protections of the doctrine. Which is likely given Justice Brett "I gotta show my hog to the world" Kavanaugh now sits on the bench.
But doing that (expanding the doctrine) would fly in the face of the framers intent and design of our government. Which is how we know R's will do it.
