I just can't listen to the news and talking heads anymore. It literally makes my blood pressure go up. I can't have news on while just going about my business. It makes me queasy and angry. So even though I haven't been here the couple of years, I have kept up with stuff from roughly my perspective, by reading the posts here. And until we get to an actual impeachment vote, that's what I'll keep doing. It's a way of keeping up with things, without getting sick over them. Thanks for that- and thanks for keeping up with the stuff that make me want to puke.

(5,164 posts)But I check in a few times a week probably. Just to see what the reaction is to all of this news etc. I pretty much avoid the TV news a lot now because it has just gotten beyond ridiculous that they are not just saying what is going on- we have a fake president and one party compromised supporting him, who is a career criminal who has betrayed the country and who is insane etc. Im just sick of it all being normalized. I get a lot of news from free online sources as well.

(34,095 posts)Somehow reading and writing are useful for my brain to absorb and consider but the shows make me jumpy. I used to watch them but it is so bad now I cannot. My husband has them on all the time, we are both retired. I put on my headphones and listen to books or just use the noise cancelling and read here.

(8,908 posts)Also "Democracy Now", and Thom Hartmann has some great perspective on the news. M$M frustrates me and besides it has too many commercials, but I DVR Rachel Maddow for her perspective and fast forward through the commercials, same with Lawrence O'Donnell, just because he has the best Trump bashing.
