First I point out that GOP leadership keeps canceling the veto override vote every time all the Dems are present - hoping they can catch us unaware and override the veto.

THEN a Republican Senator stands up and says, "We'll call [a vote] at the right time. I hope you'll miss it."

Then all the Republican Senators erupt in laughter.

(Corruption = comedy?)

You can tell by my reaction that, in my view, he just made my case for me.
Watch for yourself.

And keep in mind: This isn’t just a harmless game. *It’s the reason there’s no budget in NC* - because they've opted for corruption instead of compromise for the last three months.

To be clear:

Repeatedly postponing a vote not because some members are absent but because all members are *present* isn’t just a dumb political game - it’s a failure of integrity.

It's petty corruption. And every day it continues it's hurting our state. #CallTheVote

They brought us into session this morning, saw all the Dems were there, so they called a recess,

then another,

then another,

then another,

then another,

and every time we came back all the Dems were there.

So they cancelled the vote.

i was here when NC voted for Obama, and here since 2010, when republicans took over and systematically fucked this state over at the same time they did everything they possibly could to ensure that their power would never be usurped by Democrats.

they gerrymandered this state so effectively that Republicans stayed in power even when they lost the vote. their dirty tricks with the budget process do not stop here nor did they begin here.

The republicans in NC are disgusting amoral people who compare as badly or worse to those in DC. i cannot say enough bad about them to express how bad they are.

9. Like terrorists, NC rethugs attacked on the morning of 9/11

Most Dems were not in session that morning, attending memorial events.
The repugnant house reps had told them no votes that morning, and were planning afternoon votes.

Then they held a surprise morning vote to override the governor's veto. It was a shit show.

Now the state Senate is trying to do the same thing. It's disgusting and reprehensible!

Poor me! I wasn't born here in NC. The climate is nice, but still I hate it here more every day! And dream of moving back to the northeast. And Meadows is my congressman! When I get alerts to contact my rep about anything, I don't bother because I know it's a waste of my time.

Very frustrating, and disheartening.
