Sparking warnings that the Republican Party is preparing another massive gift for the rich and corporations, the Washington Post reported Thursday that President Donald Trump is agitating to announce a new tax cut proposal heading into the 2020 election.
According to the Post, the tax cut discussions are being led by National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow, a Wall Street cheerleader and fervent believer in the discredited idea of trickle-down economics.
The early-stage discussions reflect Trumps desire to refocus the economic narrative amid some signs of a slowing economy, the Post reported.
Fight for $15 tweeted in response to the Posts story that Trump gave away over a trillion dollars in tax cuts to corporations and billionaires and economic growth slowed to a putter.
But theyre hoping to rob as much as they can from the state coffers while they have the chance, the group tweeted, adding the hashtag #GOPTaxScam 2.0.
They will keep on taking for themselves and fuck everyone else. McConnell just loves this. They are only thinking about their own wealth and power, and all of us be damned. VOTE HIM OUT.

(82,849 posts)I wonder whatever happened to that tax cut Trump was promising in the days before the 2018 election? Oh, it was going to be big, everyone would benefit, and all that "blue wave" nonsense could just stop.
I googled "2018 trump talks up tax cut before election." A gratifying slate of stories, some straight reporting that Trump was promising a tax cut, but several more saying that any talk of a tax cut before the election was a steaming pile of Trump.
Naturally, in the year since then, the media haven't been reporting Trump's bogus promise. So maybe the administration is thinking that people have totally forgotten how Trump tried to game the election and deceive the citizenry in 2018? Wrong.
