Does anyone expect him to be more popular for the rest of this term, even if he is impeached?
He's a loser. Republicans must understand that he is not the great asset that the base believes? There is no evidence in the polls.
He is a drag on their Party if he cannot reach 50% in the polls. He will drag them under in the next election if he is their candidate.
Democrats are understandably wary and cautious because of the results of the last election. However, there is no reason to believe the same result will happen again? Trump has shown who he is, and if the people vote for that again, then America deserves no sympathy.
Democrats should impeach. He is not going to become instantly popular with the majority,

(25,428 posts)National approval is meaningless. He only needs enough votes in the right places to win the electoral college. He managed that last time with 46%.
"Trump has shown who he is, and if the people vote for that again, then America deserves no sympathy. "
Anyone who was paying attention knew who Trump was years - and in many cases, decades - ago. 46% voted for him anyway.
We often misunderstand his appeal to his minions. Many of his supporters voted for him knowing exactly who he is. They voted for him because, not in spite of, the horrible person he is.

Trump knew he was a criminal and knew he couldn't win the Presidency if he didn't hide his tax returns. TRUMP IS A CROOK,
