I think republican voters need to be shown exactly what their votes do. Because I don't

think they realize the damage #45 and the GOP does also affects them and their own families, and not just the people that they hate. They seem very OK when immigrants are the victims but fail to see where they are the victims. I believe this is a narrative that needs to be used if we are ever going to get through to these people who so often voted against their own best interests.

For example "TRUMP ROLLS BACK CLEAN WATER PROTECTIONS"

Everyone who voted for Trump, need to know that this new assault of toxic water is going to hurt their children's bodies and that they are responsible for it.

It is not enough to just say that Trump and the republicans "did" something that will hurt their kids. They need to know that THEY did something to hurt their kids - with their vote.

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration on Thursday announced the repeal of a major Obama-era clean water regulation that had placed limits on polluting chemicals that could be used near streams, wetlands and other bodies of water.

The rollback of the 2015 measure, known as the Waters of the United States rule, adds to a lengthy list of environmental rules that the administration has worked to weaken or undo over the past two and a half years.

Those efforts have focused heavily on eliminating restrictions on fossil fuel pollution, including coal-fired power plants, automobile tailpipes and methane emissions, but have also touched on asbestos and chemical hazards like pesticides.

them and hurt those close to them.

I think it is the only way they will see things differently. Because as long as they believe the hurt goes to others they don't seem to mind much.

they don’t care and don’t want to know – that’s what it is to be a Republican and a conservative.

As long as they get their tax cuts and right-wing judges and the "right" people get harmed by Trump's policies, they're fine with whatever collateral damage is caused.

can be done! With any of them!

I don't believe that. I think that if you explain skillfully how voting for a person who has deregulated .............Scratch that, maybe we use too big words and they need to be smaller and explained better.

When you vote for a president they can do things that directly affect your family. Deregulating water pollution rules for corporations means they can dump things like mercury directly into the water like they used to do. Lawmakers stopped this practice because they found out how harmful it was to people, especially babies and animals. Mercury causes birth defects so if your child is born with a defect because a company near you, or upstream from you is now allowed to dump mercury into your water supply just know that your vote led to the president who allowed them to do it. So YOU are responsible.

I know many people are able to write better than me. And advertisers are amazing at getting a point across. Advertisers can pull at people's heart strings and advertisers know how to manipulate people's feelings. Making ad advertisement that causes someone to feel guilty about letting a psychopath, who is now directly affecting their child's health should not be that hard!

But just saying, "It won't work" is unacceptable! That is something Democrats need to change!

They hate you and I more than they hate “what their vote does.” They are willing to sacrifice a lot to make you unhappy, even if it is painful on their end.

We need and enumerated list that is easy for people to understand or digest. The problem is that it needs to be boiled down because the list is far too long to keep simple.

12. Let Me Give You An Example Of What We're Up Against

Several years ago, there was a school levy on the ballot on election day. This school was facing a budget crisis because so many previous levies had been voted down so many times courtesy of the "all taxes are bad" crowd, and had said that there was nothing left to cut out of the budget, so if this levy didn't pass, they were going to have to start laying off teachers.

My good friend (a loyal listener of right-wing radio) was a teacher in this school, and he was relatively new there (so if the levy didn't pass, it was pretty much guaranteed that he'd be one of the first teachers to lose his job). On the night of the election, I was talking to him on the phone, and he asked me how I voted on the school levy. I told him what I always tell people: I value education in ALL cases, and therefore I always vote Yes on school levies. He then told me he voted No. When I got over my shock, I asked him why. This was his response: "Hey, man, my taxes are high enough."

So this guy voted to lose his own job because Rush Limbaugh told him to. This is what we're up against. There's no reaching these people. They only know talking points. They don't understand the real world implications of their "beliefs." Most of them just consider it a sport, and are simply "rooting for their team" so they can point fingers and say "Nyah nyah, we won."

It's like my in-laws who constantly rail against the evils of So-shul-ism, yet have just decided to cancel their private health insurance because Medicare is so much better. They have a 24-hour-a-day brainwashing network blaring propaganda at them. We don't have anything even close to that to combat the brainwashing.

I think we talk about how crazy these people are but we don't do enough telling them, to their faces how their votes hurt them.

You could have taken that situation to explain to him how he just voted against himself. Maybe it wouldn't have helped but I believe when people are presented with fairly evident facts and that those facts involve themselves they tend to listen.

Maybe we have written them off too easily. The right wing didn't use to be this stupid, I don't believe, in the fifties. Yes they have been brainwashed but there are ways to unbrainwash people.

Perhaps we should hire people who unbrainwash people for a living to do some of our advertising.

14. I have a housemate who voted for him. Yesterday I told her that if it were not for the Republicans

in the senate she would be making $15/hour at one of her jobs that pays minimum wage.

She kind of shrugged it off so then I explained to her how we get laws. She listened and I think I saw some light go on in her head.

I think I am next going to ask her how much she made at that job next. Then I'll figure out how much more she would have made (or will make) when this bill is finally passed. Fl minimum wage is $8.46/hour.
That's $6.54/hour more.

She only works about 15 hours/week there. $98.01 extra money in 15 hours.

52 weeks/year = $5,101.02 "That's how much money you are going will lose next year if Republicans continue to hold the Senate".

Maybe stupid listens to money. We'll see.
