6. This is my theory:

There is a cadre of Western intellectuals who espouse Russian propaganda because they believe it to be true. There is a group of intellectuals who Russia pays to spout disinformation. There is a group that sprout propaganda because they are victims of kompromat. It would not be surprising that Russian intelligence could have penetrated Taibbi's computer, found disturbing pictures or searches, and told him that if he doesn't work for Putin, he will be outed.
I don't think Taibbi believes this shit. He's either being paid or the Russians have something on him.
