Do it like you originally said, however, split it into two bumper stickers. On the left side of the fender will be "We don't have a government..." On the right side of the fender, "we have a reality TV show."

Since I have no other bumper stickers on my car, it should read sequentially, however, since I have a station wagon, I'm thinking to do it on the inside of my back window. There it will be easily read by the car behind me. It will be at eye level--perfect!
