It is not unfair to describe Scarborough’s anti-Trump harangue as a thorough and ruthless taunting of the sitting president (who occasionally tunes in to Morning Joe.)

“Think about it, if you’re Donald Trump you’re waking up this morning,” he said, then turning to the potential White House viewer adding “and you know Donald, Donald come here. Get a little closer.” Co-host Mika Brzezinski added “He likes to say he doesn’t watch,” after which Scarborough noted “But he’s watching. Donald.”

After producers showed a graphic of poll numbers showing the incumbent Kentucky governor up five percentage points just before Trump visited Lexington in support, Scarborough said “Donald, look at that. I know you don’t like reading, Donald, but look. That stands for Republican. He had 52% before you went and did that rally for him, and he got those poor folks wearing that shirt that said read the transcript when the piece of paper itself said this is not a transcript.” He then added “Donald, this is not working for you. You should just stay home and watch like those cage fights, right?”

“This is what happened after you showed up in Kentucky. Donald, my friend, you lost the state for Republicans,” he made clear, finishing with “It’s the reverse Midas touch.”

Am I the only one who is getting soooo tired of Joe's 10 minute monologues while his poor guests sit there wondering when they're going to get a chance to jump in and answer his question? I really look forward to hearing what Gene Robinson, Mike Barnacle and others have to say but it's almost impossible while Joe is doing his one man show. Even Mika looked embarrassed this morning. Just between you and me Girlfriend, how do you stand him?

I don’t completely trust any of these so-called “reformed republi-CONs”. They seem to be coming around - now. But for me to drive French up toward me, they’d have to start seeing the light on WAY more than just trump. Those fucked-up priorities if theirs: racist, misogynistic, jingoistic, regressive tax cuts for the rich/program cuts for the poor, take away your health care and your pension, pro-gun, I-Got-Mine-F-U, my-religion-trumps-your-rights, “let’s go back to the ‘50s” fever dreams - all of that needs to be abandoned. Repeat: ABANDONED. Deep-sixed. Scrapped. Into the shredder and then the garbage disposal.

And I don’t see enough of that from any of ‘em. They’re really not reformed at all. They need to realize their ideas are WRONG. WRONG for America, WRONG for the world, WRONG for the planet, and WRONG for the salvation of their own souls.
