Unofficial results for Kentucky’s 2019 general election show a voter turnout of more than 41 percent, well above the 31 percent predicted last week by Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.

There are 3,451,537 registered voters in the commonwealth, according to the Kentucky State Board of Elections. By 11 p.m. Tuesday evening, all but one of Kentucky’s 120 counties — McCracken — were reporting full results, which showed a statewide voter turnout of 41.5 percent.

Upwards of 1.4 million people cast ballots in the Nov. 5 election, and more than half of the state’s counties saw voter turnouts of at least 40 percent.

In the May primary, turnout was less than 20 percent statewide.

almost 6K votes isn't enough to drive it home to the Repubs that they lost.

But there are more registered Democrats in KY than Republicans. If there is a turnout of around 45%, Democrats are likely to win, even against Mitch McConnell.

Approximately 500K for Repubs to 400K for Democrats.

Democrats had a much larger increase in voter turnout this time around.

I pray he continues to help us up to 2020. I want to totally defeat them, not just a little, pound them into the pavement so there is no question who won and why.

A citizen should be able to vote at any one of a multitude of polling places as well as by mail.

(Always, paper ballots).
