Unofficial results for Kentuckys 2019 general election show a voter turnout of more than 41 percent, well above the 31 percent predicted last week by Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.
There are 3,451,537 registered voters in the commonwealth, according to the Kentucky State Board of Elections. By 11 p.m. Tuesday evening, all but one of Kentuckys 120 counties McCracken were reporting full results, which showed a statewide voter turnout of 41.5 percent.
Upwards of 1.4 million people cast ballots in the Nov. 5 election, and more than half of the states counties saw voter turnouts of at least 40 percent.
In the May primary, turnout was less than 20 percent statewide.

(111,078 posts)But there are more registered Democrats in KY than Republicans. If there is a turnout of around 45%, Democrats are likely to win, even against Mitch McConnell.

Democrats had a much larger increase in voter turnout this time around.

(Always, paper ballots).
