Remember that since Clinton Republicans have only won 1 presidential popular vote, (George Bush's second term)
Virginia has 13 votes. I think we can get those now! So far it hasn't even had a hearing but I hope they work on it fast.
We need enough to make sure they don't win again using the electoral college. It is not fair and it completely goes against One Person One Vote.
Here is a map of where we are now.
The National Popular Vote bill will take effect when enacted into law by states possessing 270 electoral votes (a majority of the 538 electoral votes). It has been enacted into law in 16 jurisdictions possessing 196 electoral votes, including 5 small jurisdictions (DC, DE, HI, RI, VT), 8 medium-sized states (CO, CT, MD, MA, NJ, NM, OR, WA), and 3 big states (CA, IL, NY).
The bill will take effect when enacted by states possessing an additional 74 electoral votes.
The National Popular Vote bill has now passed a total of 40 state legislative chambers in 24 states. It has also passed at least one legislative chamber in 8 states possessing 75 electoral votes (AR, AZ, ME, MI, MN, NC, NV, OK). It has been unanimously approved at the committee level in 2 states possessing 27 more electoral votes (GA, MO). The National Popular Vote bill has been introduced in various years in all 50 states.
