It reminded the sociopathic, privileged shitstain of all the sacrifices his fucking family has had to make!
I'd like to take that souless little jackass to The Wall. I can show him the names of two buddies from my platoon, one of whom died, literally, in my arms.
Then he can explain to me how tough it was for his saggy-assed old man to avoid getting the clap at Studio 54 while we were chewing dirt.
After that, I can spit in his face and watch that painted-on beard drip down past the place where other people have a chin.
The whole fucking family needs to just disappear ... preferably in handcuffs.

(26,249 posts)We have more veterans, in just one generation of my family, than you can find in his entire family tree. He is spitting in our faces by making that comparison.
The deep disdain that I feel for that entire family is approaching toxic levels.

(23,926 posts)dating back to my great-great-grandfather have served under arms in defense of this country.
It doesn't make us special. It just kind of turned out that that's what we did.
But when I watch Trump literally dry-hump the flag, and then listen to his brats prattle on about their "sacrifice", I get a serious case of the red-ass.

(26,249 posts)And it's made even worse by trump*'s own history.
And it doesn't make us special, other than putting us in the 1% who served, either by choice or obligation. I make no distinction.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)Clearly that family is the most put upon, tragically unfortunate group in all of American history.
Can't you see that?
(as if that is really needed)
What an incredible bunch of asshats they are.
It is astounding how desperate they are to be adored and how utterly clueless they seem to be, to their own disgusting, horrible and heinous family history.
And FWIW, hat tip for going through what you did. I was too young by about 10 years to get a draft notice, and the draft, and the war for that matter, ended before my oldest brother got called up.

(49,945 posts)NONE of them would stoop to that level.
Asshats seems a bit of an understatement.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)particularly of the African "Big Five" just strikes me as so incredibly last century, so to speak.
As if those that think such endeavors make them more manly, or whatever it is they think it makes them. An attempt to hearken back to the days of Teddy Roosevelt, thinking the ignorance of ecology and conservation common in days gone by is somehow an attribute.
I understand completely the need for culling the occasional rogue male elephant and distributing the meat to locals. I know that selling off the permit to do so is a necessity and can be and is, a source of income for those local communities. But to make a big deal of it, as if you are "The Great White Hunter" of lore, is simply asinine and as is now being widely understood for what it is; a rich man's game that no reasonable member of society wants anything to do with.
If you are a hunter and EAT WHAT YOU KILL and choose to mount the head of the ten point buck (or whatever) on your wall, have at it. I have no problem with that.
But thinking it's cool to have your picture taken with the carcass of an animal you had to travel half a world away to shoot, doesn't make you a hunter, and it certainly does not make you a hero.
It makes you an asshole.

(28,940 posts)the many more who had their bodies, minds and lives fucked over by steel, fire, disease and all manner of other shit and my great great grandfather, great grandfather, grandfather, brother, nephews, great nephew, my husband, his father and uncles ...
You and that collection of creatures you share DNA with aren't fit or deserving to breathe the same air as the man and women resting at Arlington.
All of you have no fucking idea what sacrifice means. So STFU.

(9,111 posts)That's why he didn't say they sacrificed millions of dollars in profits and opportunities, so they could serve. He had to say 'millions and millions', to make it seem more substantial, in light of them claiming they have 11 thousand million dollars, in the first place.
Ignore all the sleazy international deals Rump and his kids are all pulling, to make millions and millions, all the time, too.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,362 posts)I saw an article a while back quoting some Wall Street guy who was/is in a position to know, that virtually ALL of their "net worth" is leveraged to the Nth degree.
If they were to liquidate EVERYTHING they could, meaning sell everything right down to the goofy hats in the golf course pro shops, they might come out $100 mil in the black, but even that figure was one he saw as doubtful.
A hundred million net worth puts him solidly in the pauper division of the ultra rich.
A lot of the properties that have his name on them are licensing agreements. He didn't "build" them or have anything to do with their construction, it's just that he was able to finagle his name onto the side of the building because the others involved thought it gave some sort of cachet. His golf resorts and courses are similar. Golf has a shrinking demographic worldwide and is struggling to attract new players into the game. As such, golf course are large investment most banks are not willing to underwrite. Yet he owns a shit-ton of them.
Why?
Because they are perfect places to launder money, that's why.
I have a feeling that when it is all said and done, when the true depth and breadth of his bullshit is revealed, virtually everything labeled "Trump" will be shown to be a complete scam.
Methinks his cachet is tarnishing at a rapid pace.

(9,111 posts)from Spy magazine, one time.
But they're taking millions in, in illicit and illegal deals, world wide, every year. Keeps them living like they actually are rich, to the standards they're accustomed to.
Never thought they were worth 11 billion, after all those casino bankruptcies, and their main properties have revenue streams dropped to 20% of what they were, coz the brand sucks and is poison.
But they claim to be worth 11 thousand million dollars, at the same time as they want to talk about giving up, what, $50 million? 20? 3?
We used to have 11,000 million, but we sacrificed so much we only have 10,800 $1,000,000.
So don't whine about getting killed fighting for the US.

(1,402 posts)In all my life, I've never felt as angry as I do at this DJT family! They have no conscience, no morality, no allegiance to our flag and country or anything pertaining to the USA!! I appreciate you putting my thoughts into words. All of them need to 'be gone'!! Thank you.

(1,639 posts)Thank you, sir, for your service to our country. My admiration and concern are with you as you continue your life journey with the trauma of war and loss embedded in your heart.
Thank you for your frank expression of feeling. Many times, when I read DU members posting profanity or "trash talk" directly at Trump et al with no other commentary I feel uneasy.
For right or wrong, I long for those opposed to Trump and his ilk to hold themselves to the highest degree of demeanor and speech because I feel that it highlights the hypocrisy of those who talk about "Christian" values and morality and insist that strong character is all that is needed to overcome different types of disadvantages.
Your colorful comments are the exception because the "depth" of the color comes from the painful reality that you saw and heard and smelled in Vietnam.
So, to you I say, spit away, good sir, if the opportunity presents itself. I would admire your restraint in not bitch slapping the entitled little fool who will NEVER know the true meanings of the words, "sacrifice" or "service".

(4,450 posts)I never served but my dad fought in Korea. He's obviously well on in years now but...let's just say he makes his feelings on the entire Dump family known whenever he sees one of them on the teevee spouting their smarmy bullshit. He would agree with everything you wrote.

(11,088 posts)In my nearly thirty years of Army service I was nowhere near a combat zone, so maybe I lack standing to be so pissed.
Nevertheless, anytime one of these congenital sociopaths speak about "the troops" or veterans, I get pissed all over again. None of them have any idea what is meant by public service, or personal honor, or common decency.
They think that anyone who actually served the country is a chump.

(22,065 posts)lazy ass dad had 'bone spurs'. F**king cowards.
My dad served in the Korean War and was proud of his service to this country. Many of us have served and have family and friends who have served proudly.
My dad told me of when they got trapped behind enemy lines. He never told me more about it. I didn't ask, but I remember him several times dressing up in his uniform, proudly. I love my dad and miss him terribly.

Then called his AAA Triple Gold card 800 number and had them bring a brand new tire by and install it so his car was perfectly perfect with no blemish to be found.
Soon he was on his way.
