Visionaries

It happens in politics, medicine, theatre, 11th grade classrooms, even in a dilapidated shed out in the backwoods. A visionary rises in spite of the You-Can’t-Do-It crowd in the observation towers.

It’s impossible. Nobody will go for this. That’s not the way things are done around here. This will fail on day one. But, history shows us what can happen when a visionary’s persistence wins out over Don’t-Make-Waves-ers

Our country’s enormous challenges call for someone new offering something different. It’s not the time to tinker around the edges using the same old tools in the same old way. We’ve tried that over and over. A little tweak here and there hasn’t solved homelessness, our crumbling infrastructure, the cost of health care. Tweaking hasn’t reduced our national debt, the amount of plastic in the ocean or the number of people in prison. It hasn’t changed our foster care system or or reduced gun violence. We need a shake up, a citizen-inspired movement that rivals a volcanic eruption.

If politicians can easily figure out how to hold a $1,500.00 a plate dinner, they can get a few people together and figure out a way to get those children out of cages on the southern border. Who are we, anyhow? What is it that we just can’t do?

A visionary....that’s what I’m looking for.

trump certainly has a vision. a very distopian vision to be sure.

Bernie has a vision, and I can see ms warren's vision as well. some of the others are less clear. the purpose of our primaries is to present these visions to the people, to combine and refine them, to answer the questions ("how do you pay for that?&quot and to demonstrate that a lot of people agree and will help make it happen.

edit : add the rfk quote

“Some people see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not?” rhk

translate the vision/idea into action and inspire others to action. That way visions/ideas become reality.
