Days After Taking Majority, VA House Dems Choose State's First Female Speaker in History!

https://bluevirginia.us/2019/11/breaking-va-house-dems-choose-del-eileen-filler-corn-as-new-speaker-del-charniele-herring-as-new-majority-leader

The election results were just announced. Congratulations to the new Virginia House of Delegates leadership team, including Del. Eileen Filler-Corn as the new Speaker of the House, Del. Charniele Herring as the new Majority Leader, and Del. Rip Sullivan as the Democratic Caucus Chair! Also, thanks to everyone else who put their names forward for these positions (e.g., see Del. Lashrecse Aird’s comments, below). Now, Democrats need to unify and focus on delivering on policies that will benefit ALL Virginians.

P.S. As RTD reporter Jeff Schapiro points out, “#Va’s first female House speaker is from NoVa, as are the new majority leader and Democratic caucus chairman, Charniele Herring and Rip Sullivan, respectively.”
