No, scratch that... it's just plain hypocrisy.
In this case I'm talking about reactions to a comment by head coach Ed Orgeron inside the LSU locker room after the Tigers' big victory at Alabama.
In a moment meant only for his celebrating team, Orgeron shouted about finally catching Alabama and about surpassing them in the future... and then followed that up with "They say 'Roll Tide'? Fuck them!"
Locker room talk if ever I've heard such.
And, of course, Alabama fans are outraged this morning about LSU's "classless", "low life", "potty mouth", "infantile" head coach.
Well, you know where I'm going with this. These are the same people who voted for donald trump and cheered him yesterday inside their stadium.
I say fuck them.
By the way, I would still love Ed Orgeron if he shot somebody in broad daylight on Bourbon Street.
Well, not really.

(14,961 posts)as if their thoughts were rare. The hypocrisy of the right, is stunning.

(5,385 posts)perhaps he should have considered that he was among children before talking like that, but if coach malzahn has an opportunity for such locker room talk in a few weeks I might join him.
congratulations to the tigers for a great win, and "wait til next year."

(16,294 posts)If the game had been played in Baton Rouge fat Donnie would have been cheered just as loudly. Youre trying to create space between Alabama Trump Humpers and Louisiana Trump Humpers when in reality there is no difference at all politically.

(5,308 posts)I would have made the same observation if the teams were reversed.

(12,497 posts)This must be same type of infantile Alabama ahole fan that poisoned the competitors trees because they lost a stupid football game.
How soon those Bamatards forget their own university's transgressions. LSU fans better keep an eye on the campus trees.

(700 posts)Orgeron has done wonders for the Tiger program. And it's pretty obvious he loves LSU. The West has gone thru Bama for years and now LSU is top dog - I mean top cat!
Keep winning and bring home a natty for the SEC!
Geaux Tigers!

(5,308 posts)And having financed my son through to his graduation from the University of South Carolina, the Gamecocks are, of course, his favorite team and my second. Things were looking up with that big win over Georgia but the season has turned sour now.

(700 posts)I actually grew up on James Island - between Charleston and Folly Beach. After grad school at Carolina me and my partner moved to St Louis where I now live. I make it back home every few years but not as often as I would like.
It's 12 degrees up here this morning. I do love me some cold weather!

(92 posts)I think Coach O is a hoot! I think he can be forgiven a few moments of profane exuberance in this situation. He speaks for the LSU Nation.
Bama has beat LSU the last 8 meetings...I think that the coach that broke the streak on Bama's home field deserves to "cut up" a little bit! It only adds to the rich tradition of SEC Football. Bama/LSU has become one of the great rivalries in college football!!

(11,088 posts)LSU finally has a coach that sounds like he comes from Louisiana.

(11,088 posts)but he sounds like a lot of guys with whom I served in Reserve unit in Belle Chasse.
In his post-game interview on Saturday, every comment ended with either "State of Louisiana" or "Geaux Tigers." He's the team's and the State's biggest booster.

(5,042 posts)They think their shit dont stink and Auburn fans are trash and every other SEC team are idiots.
I work with one, from Alabama, who graduated, and hes dead serious he thinks they are always class. He legitimately believes Cam Newton demanded a million dollars and Sabin told him to pound sand so he went to Auburn.
Of course hes also proud they cheered Dump.
Hes a dope.

(2,088 posts)I can sit here in my old years and compare sports to politics. And even take it to the next level of this college is in a state the normally votes etc etc. While it is so easy,,and it is, I even do it once in awhile when I post about teams I like. I will offer this thought; it is a distraction, quite frankly what Ed said is what ED believed in the moment of SPORTS. the Repbthugs have spent many hours, tweets and robot hours to make us thinks Everything is political. It is not. LSU/ALA was a HUGE game in NCCA Football,, the game had nothing to do with politics. When we make games political, or every "next big thing " in any news cycle political, we are just reacting to, and playing the republican game plan.
Take a Breath,, think, slow down, feel free to post what you believe, and take another breath and decide if games that we all enjoying are as important as our country being flushed. Republicans want us all to say YES
