It was a nice touch, however, when his congress person had them finally hand delivered.

(3,585 posts)2. If I saw it correctly he has what is almost the most respected award in the Army, the Infantry
Combat Badge, the purple heart is seen as being wounded or injured, a random event, not an act of choosing and is not seen by soldiers as highly as civilians seem to think of it.

Still, it's neat the old soldier got his Purple Heart.
