I regret referring to Trump supporters as "idiot racist fuckheads."

Last edited Tue Nov 12, 2019, 02:50 PM - Edit history (1)

I met my first (AFAIK) Qanon today, and I realized just how grossly inadequate the term "idiot racist fuckhead" is to describe the catastrophically disastrous lunatics.

They are so far beyond simple idiocy, or racism, or fuckheadness that I confess I simply wouldn't have believed it if you'd described one of them to me.

Their minds are lost. They are full-blown cultists.

I once spent two hours in a one-on-one meeting with a fairly high-ranking Scientologist, and by comparison he seemed entirely sane and rational and full of good ideas.

The unhinged and frothing cultist I met this morning so exceeds my wildest concept of a Trump zealot that I honestly thought he was pranking me.

If only.

I knew that they were dangerous, but they're much, much worse than I'd imagined.

Holy shit what a seething cauldron of hideous mental dysfunction.

And to all you idiot racist fuckheads lurking here with the intent of reposting this on your little circle jerk conservative forum, every last one of you can go fuck yourselves, individually and collectively.

The RW media has created this cult since Reagan. Trump's base cannot be swayed by facts or logic as they have been trained not to believe anything that doesn't align perfectly with their beliefs.

Until we can come up with a way to require some truth in the news, Americans cannot come together again.

Before I get hit with some Free Speech argument it is possible for the government to restrict speech if there is a compelling governmental interest, such as making it illegal to shout "fire" in a crowded theater if there is no fire. Fox News won an appeal out of Florida where it is ok for them to lie because Fox News was found to not be news... it is entertainment. Things like this need to be addressed legislatively once we can take the Senate and the WH.

One cannot actually debate a Holocaust denier.

One cannot debate a climate change denier.

One cannot debate someone who claims that "alternative facts" exist.

John C. Calhoun
James Buchanan (the economist)

That being said, I believe we are entirely UNEVOLVED to the point of self destruction. 5. Why do people believe this nonsense?

To answer that question, let us turn to "The Paranoid Style in American Politics," the classic American political essay by historian Richard Hofstadter. Originally published in Harper's Magazine in 1964, Hofstadter dissected what causes people to subscribe to conspiracy theories. His argument was based not on a psychological diagnosis but rather on a particular style that tends to appeal to people regardless of whether it has any objective merit:

The paranoid spokesman sees the fate of conspiracy in apocalyptic terms—he traffics in the birth and death of whole worlds, whole political orders, whole systems of human values. He is always manning the barricades of civilization. He constantly lives at a turning point. Like religious millennialists he expresses the anxiety of those who are living through the last days and he is sometimes disposed to set a date fort the apocalypse...

As a member of the avant-garde who is capable of perceiving the conspiracy before it is fully obvious to an as yet unaroused public, the paranoid is a militant leader. He does not see social conflict as something to be mediated and compromised, in the manner of the working politician. Since what is at stake is always a conflict between absolute good and absolute evil, what is necessary is not compromise but the will to fight things out to a finish. Since the enemy is thought of as being totally evil and totally unappeasable, he must be totally eliminated—if not from the world, at least from the theatre of operations to which the paranoid directs his attention.

I have only met a couple of such jarheads like the above, but I'm serious in defending our sacred rights too. Strongly too. when it happened to me. It started when a woman LOUDLY intruded on a quiet, private conversation I was having with another passenger.

The intruder ranted nonstop until I cut her off for her rudeness. She switched to victim mode then and accused me of cursing at her (I hadn't) and said I was not very peaceful toward her if I was one of those liberals who always talk about peace.

So I agreed with her. I said peace is a virtue. I held up my fingers in a peace sign. Other people caught on and also made peace signs. When she tried to respond, I said "Peace, sister." When she brought up the need to fight the devil, people laughed. I thought that would rile her even more but she got quiet then. Not sure why. Maybe she thought we were all demons serving the devil and was too busy praying for protection against us to continue her rants.

Or maybe she just realized that she had forgot her meds that day.

There are so many basic, fundamental "principles" of the Republican/conservative doctrine that deny reality and facts, the logical product of it all can not reasonably make sense.

The entire Republican "philosophy" is based upon a series of lies, very much like the the same lies which slavery-approving Southerners must have steeped themselves in in order to make sense of their world.

So to see samples of this pop up now and then makes no surprise. I'm happy it's becoming clear to others.

I should say that someone who truly enlightened me on this general observation was listening to Mike Malloy, who brings out the FIRE on his show.

He was a customer, and if I could have cut it any shorter than two hours, believe me I would have.

He also kept wanting to show me YouTube videos that he claimed are being suppressed, each of them 15+ minutes long and full (I'm sure) of more crazy bullshit.

Likely to include all too many of the "hate-skool" macho idiots I had the dis-privilege to spend some of my junior school years with. There was no other moment in that coal-minin' town more sickening to me than the day several of the retired miners were sitting on a porch engaged in asinine conversation somehow regarding our group of kids walking to the bus stop from school, when one of the most repulsive, toothless, unfiltered cig-rette puffing idiots proffered his opinion: "All that book-larnin don't do you no good"- to a chorus of raucous laughter.
I realized for the first time I was attempting to mature among a group of gran-papa influenced bullies.
I can age a picture practically every one of the boys I was with wearing MAGA hats, cheering loudly at absolutely anything, no matter how asinine the orange creep says.

Fuck every last one of them, and fuck the republicans for rallying them.

Then I talked with my rwnj cousin & he is totally unreachable. He has bought into the Clinton/Obama Deep State bullshit & he will double down on every wrong thing he believes & says. Then my husband experienced the same thing with his rwnj brother. These people are never going to accept the truth or reality. They are going to tell themselves whatever they have to to hang onto the belief that 1) they weren't conned, 2) they weren't stupid, & 3) they weren't wrong.

Predictably, those shoe-biting asshats couldn't wait to rant about my rant, few of them taking even a moment to disavow any of Qanon's toxic insane bullshit.

Delicate motherfuckers that they are, they took care to censor my post, so that their fragile eyes wouldn't be harmed by the term "fuckhead."

So thank you, you semi-sentient zealots for once again showing yourselves as the deranged cult of coprophages that we always knew you to be.

Can't wait for this post to pop up over there. It'll be one of the few posts among your idiots' drivel that's factually true.

Once again, go fuck yourselves, each and every last one of you Trump-licking lunatics.
