Over the weekend, Christian pseudo-historian David Barton helped organize a ProFamily Legislators Conference meant to brief attendees on how conservatives are working to tear down the wall between church and state.
Barton is one of the proponents of Project Blitz (which has since been rebranded as Freedom for All), the Christian Rights playbook that includes draft legislation meant to inundate lawmakers in the hope that at least some of their bills pass.
But one picture from the event tells you a lot about how these people think. (I was alerted to it by Freedom From Religion Foundation attorney Andrew Seidel.)
In a talk by pollster George Barna, theres a slide with the headline Election Action that appears to encourage Christians not to conduct voter registration drives that target young people. Why? Because those voters are likely to oppose conservatives.

(13,903 posts)Not sure I see a down side here.
Now, if they are telling people to volunteer and then selectively approach only people who meet the christofascist's profile, that is another thing entirely.

No coincidence. Not everyone doing that is...but some of it is by design

(26,619 posts)The Christian extremists want a theocracy. I think legal gay marriage put them over the top, plus how close we came to a woman president..not good for male dominance, you know.

On Edit: Pays to actually look at the photo. Don't register anyone but old, evilgelicals That makes sense. Then again, evilgelicals aren't really hot about registering voters anyway.
Oh, and that socialism thing they're so worked up about on that slide...yea...we're going to turn your kids gay and your wifey poo into a raging feminist. Then we'll force feed you soy until you don't have enough testosterone left to grow chest hair. That usually makes their eyes bulge out and their faces turn red. Love it!
