"Venice Is On Its Knees": Mayor Blames Worst Tides In 50 Years On Climate Change

Sadly, we'll be seeing more headlines like this as the Chinese Hoax continues.

With more than 85 percent of the city flooded, Brugnaro says the Italian city is in a state of emergency. He's now asking Italy's central government for help, saying the damage to Venice is huge.

The water overwhelmed seawalls and smashed brick docks, shoving boats into streets and putting portions of landmarks such as St. Mark's Basilica and La Fenice Opera House underwater. While the crypt at St. Mark's was flooded, a member of its management board tells Italian news agency ANSA that the main concern is that water may have damaged the basilica's support columns.

The fact is that without immediate, extreme and PERMANENT changes, this planet will become inhospitable to life as we have known it within the century. We were lied to for decades about how close to the edge we were drifting and how rapid and severe the impacts would become. In the near term, food scarcity will become real, floods will become unmanageable and migrations will be forced...then the shit is REALLY going to start.

There will be massive refugee camps, immense privation and strife in them and eventually riots and mass murders. The world is absolutely unwilling to change, but nature is not a negotiating partner or something that can be bullied...it is going to impose its truth on us all and there is NOTHING we can do to stop it when it comes. Does anyone hear "85% of Venice is flooded" and think "well, they are going to need more pumps..." - sadly? The answer is yes. We should all be thinking that Miami, New York, London, Mumbai, and many other coastal cities are in deep shit and soon...

The whole thing makes me want to curl up in a ball and wait to die sometimes...
